Bahamas Press is sad today, because we have lost a friend. We have lost a FATHER, the man with the support we needed to see life through. A deeply committed Bahamian friend, a man who served his family and country well, with deep sincerity. We are lost for words and our words cannot make sense. Tommy died whilst in Chicago this morning, ‘The Windy City’ with his sons at his side.

This is my very first time to this site and this is the first thing I see. No coincidence, I am sure. Although he has been gone for almost a year now, reading this promptly brought tears to my eyes. I loved this man so much; he was a great man whom I knew, loved and respected all my life. He was the Father to me I never had. I will miss him so much.

This is truly a sad day for me and my family. From my brother to my mother to my children, we will miss Tommy ever so much. We considered Tommy family. We’ve known Tommy from the very first time he made a visit to his uncle Rhuel in NYC, who just so happened to live next door to my family. We’ve been close ever since. Tommy, I’m going to miss having breakfast with you on Saturdays and Sundays at Sailors choice but most of all I’ll miss you for just being Tommy. With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart I say REST IN PEACE. I’ll always remember and love you.

This is one of the first times I can truly say I have been at a loss for words. I am so upset about the passing of Tommy. He was a dear friend…. a sincere person…..always with the best advice and a kind word. This is very sad. My heart goes out to his family …. especially his sons who are with him in Chicago and his trusted employees who are also there.

RIP Tommy …. I will never forget you … those talks were so precious to me now.
