The changing faces of an angry man who is prime Minister of The Bahamas (Hubert Ingraham).
Nassau, Bahamas: Word is that Hubert Ingraham is back in the capital and though no formal word has yet confirmed that to be true, one can feel the heaviness all over the city again. A murder occurred in the Coral Habour area for the first time in weeks around 9PM on Monday night. The incident quieted the silence of murder in the country becoming number 43. Since Hubert Ingraham left for Haiti on a Caribbean Cruise not a single violent episode occurred. But what was even more tragic was how a Grand Bahamian lost his life on the streets of Grand Bahama in another mangled vehicle. (*SEE PHOTO BELOW)
An eleven year old awardee of the Governor General Student’s Award has committed suicide in an inner city on Tuesday. Devante McPhee was discovered around 3PM hanging from a belt strapped around his neck, in the back of his home. The young man was discovered by neighbours with lifeless body swinging from the metal clothe line. Area residents removed his body from the strap before police arrived to the scene. The young man was scheduled to begin junior high school in September. Police are treating this incident as a accident.
later yesterday afternoon another man was stabbed about the body on Rupert Dean Lane.
The peace was broken all of a sudden now that Hubert Ingraham is back in the country. We were the first to say when he left the country, the island felt lighter. Even Tommy Turnquest amid all the quietness felt it was safe to report how quiet the city was, at a luncheon on last week Wednesday. Perhaps the Minister of National Security spoke too soon.
