Copper wires gone at ZNS…Another example of Tommy Turnquest failures

Tommy Turnquest is AN UTTER FAILURE TO THIS COUNTRY.

Barbarians Attack Government!

Nassau, Bahamas – ZNS press statement reports two BEC truck operators went to its 1540 AM transmission site in the southern end of the island and following that visit station went off air. The copper fitted in the tower was stolen, and as they say the rest is history.

This was the third copper theft at the station’s transmission site.

Now this is interesting because a security is on guard in the area 24 -7. Bahamas Press went to the site some weeks ago, and we reported how after two earlier copper thefts at the same location, the area was still not gated, and a derelict boat was sitting on the government land.

Days after were reported ZNS never did a damn thing and now once again thieves have made good on expensive public equipment.

The security officer never reported the names of the men coming onto the property. The officer never confirmed to ZNS head office of the invasion by the BEC work cruises. The officer never took the plate number of the vehicles, so who do you think should be implicated here; THE BEC truck drivers or the security officer?

BP wonders when in the hell will this society get it right? Here is a clear example of BLATANT WUTLESSNESS and NEGLIGENCE!

Here we go again is FAILURE MANAGE BY TOMMY TURNQUEST!

WE NEED CHANGE!

  • Hey you can’t blame Tommy Turnquest if the people said they had come to check the transformers and then they stole that wire… It is not the Governments fault if the Security Guard didn’t go with them. You can’t blame the Minister for everything that happens in the Country he is only one man and can’t be everywhere at once…
Thanks A lot BP for giving us the Information that has already been aired on ZNS…
Will Check Back Later For the Updates after I hear the truth…

  • I just hate the idea of a recycling company that ship stuff out of the country and cash for gold. All this does is cause people not to work and steal. Companies like these should not be able to open shop like this in the Bahamas.

  • Whoever it is need to stop before they get the shock of their life (shock literally) that will eventually kill them.

  • I blame BP for this and not Tommy….BP said they reported that the copper area was not gated…so what you did was tell the thieves that there’s no gate so go get the copper…Shame!

  • “truth or consequences” try not to be so single and shallow minded that people would almost predict to the letter what position you would take on an issue………..

you seem to look at everything through a political prizm.

  • IF TOMMY IS NOT TO BLAME THEN WHO SHOULD BE BLAMED? YOU BLAMED EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN THE PLP ON PLP MINISTERS OR PERRY CHRISTIE. I SEE THE TREND NOW; THINGS HAPPEN AND EITHER THE FNM IS NOT TO BE BLAMED OR JUST BLAME THE PLP AS BEING A LEFT OVER FROM ITS FIVE YEARS IN OFFICE. TOMMY AND THE FNM ARE TO BE BLAMED FOR THE ESCALATION OF CRIME BECAUSE ITS BECAUSE OF THEIR POLICES THAT CRIME IS THRIVING; THEY ARE TO BE BLAMED FOR THE SHRINKISH IN THE MIDDLE CLASS, FOR THE NANY HOUSEHOLDS WHO ARE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY, FOR THE MANY WHO HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES BECAUSE THEY CAN’T PAY THEIR MORTGAGES AND THEY ARE TO BE BLAMED FOR ALL; YES I SAY ALL THE HARDSHIPS THAT THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING TODAY. THEY BROUGHT THIS COUNTRY TO THE BRINK IN 2002 AND THEY HAVE US UNDER THE BUS NOW. THE PLP RESCUED US AFTER 2002 AND WILL HAVE TO RESCUE THE COUNTRY AGAIN.

    • WE ARE TO BLAME….THE TIEFS WAS FNM DRIVER WITH A PLP HELPER AND THE SCRAP DEALER IS BDM, CASE SOLVED. BAHAMIANS IS THE BLAME AGAIN

    • so tell me truth or consequencies….who’s to blame for our small country still standing..who’s to blame that our dollar still has its value..who’s to blame that bahamians travel daily to miami to shop..who’s to blame that everytime you go to wendy’s, the line is very long..who’s to blame that you can’t spell consequences?

  • what will they do with the copper?

    • Copper is very valuable on the secondary market. What I don’t get is this: there are only a handfull of scrap-metal dealers in the Bahamas who export these things for re-cycling. If the theives aren’t going through them, then how are they getting the stuff out of the country. This really shouldn’t be hard to investigate. The theives are also probably technically skilled in electrical work because in the case of ZNS, they stole live wires. This alone would narrow the search significantly. I just don’t get it!

      • Its easy, fire the security then investigate the BEC workers who were given trucks fitting the security’s description on that day and shift. This case should be solved by tommorow. Tommy Turnquest is however not to blame…the security officer is to blame for this one for not following proticol

  • media

We don’t blame him because of Bahamians have STICKY FINGERS, but we blame him because we asked him a few months ago to place a fence around that same facility. MORE THAN A MONTH AGO!

We also asked him as minister to have removed off the government land ALL THE PEOPLE derelict boats and old cars! What did he do? Nothing! NOT A DAMN THING!

His neglect made it easy for the THIEVES. And so they haven’t come back once, not twice but this is the THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED!

And Still the WUTLESS MINISTER fails to do due diligence.

    TOMMY ‘GATS’ TO GO!

    BP

  • I don’t believe Tommy Turnquest is to blame for crimes commited in this country. That would simply be using him as a scapegoat. But this ring of copper thefts is something that should have been resolved a long time ago. We know that the copper is being sold as scrap. We know also that it has to be a relatively small group of people doing this. ZNS was victimized, COB was victimized and lord know who else. That this small group of theives cannot be found in this small society is very troubling. We must have either the most inept investigators on our police forcce or a group of people in high places that are complicit in these crimes.
