Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Kindly grant me some space on your web page, to articulate my views on the intended Bahamas Conference of Seventh-Day Adventist Church Session: to elect a new administration.

While I applaud our outgoing President, pastor Leonard Johnson, for the contributions he made to the development of our conference; I bid him God speed, and every success in his new capacity, as the first President of the new union that was carved out of the West Indies Union of which the Bahamas was a part.

It is a rather small group: but no more reporting to Jamaica. The Bahamas now has it’s own Union, with Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Island reporting to it.

However, the main concern among Seventh-Day Adventist in the Bahamas now is, how we go about electing a new administration.

Voting by ballot, have long been high on the Church delegates agenda; rather than a show of hands in a crowded room, as is the church’s custom.

As Seventh-Day Adventist, we pride ourselves on being Bible base Christians. My prayers areĀ I hope we demonstrate that we have the ability to hold a fair and democratic election.

Signed,

A committed Adventist
