A LETTER TO THE EDITOR
The writer and editor of the Tribune story Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 page 7 was right on point with the
appropriate words speaking about unprofessional attitudes and immature behaviour that is present at NIB
concerning top management.
These unacceptable behaviours in the workplace was again displayed at NIB on Wednesday, 13th July
where Middle Management staff members were once again embarrassed when they had planned their
Annual General Meeting which was scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. but did not get started until 6:00 p.m.
because they (staff) were not allowed time off.
This was a “tit for tat” or punishment from top Management because of the media report on Wednesday 13th.
Additionally, the invitation from the Public Managers Union (NIB, Bahamasair and COB) to the Director,
Algernon Cargill to bring greetings was also an embarrassing situation. Again, a display of unprofessional
and immature behaviour was present when the Director was conveniently unavailable and was represented
by a representative who could not wait to get out of the building at the AGM after a very short, stressful and
In light of the amount of times these two ugly monsters’ “unprofessional and immature” behaviours have
shown their ugly heads, it can be concluded that they don’t know or refused to do any better.
Hint, Hint! To the officers and members of the Union of Public Officers (UPO) of NIB when planning your
AGM don’t let this happen to you.
A word to the wise is sufficient!
