Long Island could be Papa’s Waterloo…FNMs are ready for CHANGE!

Long island, Bahamas — As he promised while on the Jeffery Lloyd show in December of last year, Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham is making his first stop on the campaign trail down in Long Island.

Residents in the Long Island Association of the Free National Movement tell us, they are planning an honouree banquet at the Clarence Town Community Centre on July 30th.  The big talk is Papa is coming to Long Island and while there; he will be listening to constituents.

Hon. Larry Cartwright

Word in on the island is that FNMs are protesting by not registering for the upcoming general elections, but Papa is set to make peace. However, one BIG TIME FNM say, “WE TIRED A THEM ‘FOOLIN’ US, AND WE AIN’T GA BE FOOL THIS TIME!”

Papa should know by now he has a problem in the constituency as residents across the community are set to REJECT the incumbent MP for the area, Larry Cartwright. This is not good news.

Polls taken during the regatta, when the ‘DNA Green Queens’ were in town, proved the FNM support had shaved to a mere 30% in popularity; again, NOT GOOD!

From what we know two more horses for the FNM are seeking the seat. Philsa Grant a native out of ground zero Freeport, Grand Bahama is vying for the Long Island nomination, but getting her elected is a near impossible task. Long Islander, Brad McPhee, is also seeking the nomination and from what we know has locked down key FNM generals for support.

Brad McPhee a diehard FNM may run independent in Long Island.

What we believe though is this, while the FNM dither and toil over who will be named as a candidate for Long Island, young PLP rock star candidate, Alex Storr, has opened branches and is spending countless hours on the ground in the constituency.

With disgruntled FNMs on the ground and confusion as who will be the FNM standard bearer for the seat, the PLP could clinch the seat for the first time in political history.

Hardcore FNMs in Long Islanders tell us, “We will boycott this election BP. We ‘ga’ sit home and show the FNM we don’t want anything to do with them!

Long Island could be the great watershed in the life of the FNM and its rejection of the Government could be Papa’s Waterloo.

Long Islanders want CHANGE!

  • i am a resident of long island and i must say i am very disappointed in Mr. Larry Cartwright performance. he was my principal at one point in time and i have known him for years. However he does appear to be fully involved in developing or contributing to the development of the Northern part of the island. I will remain an FNM but refuse to vote for him.

  • The PLP should try to win on its own merits, and not bank on any division within the FNM to win Long Island.Even if the PLP were to win this seat, you can be certain that they would be in there for only one term. The FNM in Long Island will get its act together. For whatever reason, most white Bahamians have a very deep dislike for the PLP.I witnessed a black PLP supporter berate a white FNM supporter in 2007,just before the election. This was in Freeport City. The PLP was very rude and obnoxious. It looked like he wanted to pit black against white. He wanted to start a race war.The PLP needs to make up its mind on what it is.In one breath it says that it is the party for the black masses.Yet,in another breath it says that it has a very big tent for all people.Which is it? Moreover, where is Perry G. Christie? Haven’t heard from him in a very long time. It seems as if he has fallen off the edge of the earth. Is he ill? Has he retired? What has happened to him? Please enlighten us,BP.

Perry G. Christie will appear in a national forum this Saturday. The question you should ask is this Kevin, WHERE IS THE DAMN PRIME MINISTER IN ALL THIS MAYHEM AND MURDER ROCKING THE COUNTRY!

      BP

  • IF THE PEOPLE OF LONG ISLAND DO NOT VOTE LAZY LARRY OUT OF OFFICE,THAT JACK… WILL BANNED THE CATCHING OF CONCH AND LOBSTER JUST THE WAY HOW HE DID WITH THE CATCHING OF SEA TURTLES.THE GOOD PEOPLE OF LONG ISLAND DEPEND ON THE CATCHING OF CONCH AND LOBSTER TO MAKE A HONEST LIVING.THE BAHAMAS IS WATCHING IN THE UPCOMING GENERAL ELECTIONS TO SEE IF LONG ISLANDERS IS GOING TO GIVE LAZY LARRY ANOTHER TERM IN OFFICE TO CRIPLE THE SEA LIFE OF THE BAHAMAS FOR POUCHERS TO TAKE OVER.HE SHOULD BE THE MINISTER OF GOAT,SHEEP AND COW WHICH IS COMMON IN LONG ISLAND WHERE HE HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP.

  • Mr. Cartwright has been a disappointment to the people of Long Island who have supported the F>N>M for many years. When he was an independant canidate he was fortunate to get both P.L.P. and F.N.M. votes. He now acts as though he is above the same people that made him their M.P. The time has now come for us as Long Islanders to show him that he works for us and we do not work for him. We are fed up with his poor representation and the F.N.M.’s don’t care attitude. A change is coming. believe that. oh, by the way the water in south Long Island has been of since Saturday.

  • BP.I was around when the UBP was in power. I never thought that they would lose but they did to the PLP.I am willing to bet however that the PLP will never win in Long Island. One miracle in my lifetime is enough!

    • Apparently, you don’t live in Long Island and did not have to stuggle to survive for the last four years.
