Emera and the Grand Bahama Power Company are eroding Freeport’s economy

Dear Editor, While Emera Inc. and the Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) continues to grow by leaps and bounds from a financial standpoint, many businesses and residents on Grand Bahama, especially in Freeport, continue to catch eternal hell. GBPC recently started operating its $80 million West Sunrise plant with a 92 percent Bahamian workforce. That is good news for this decimated economy on Grand...

An open letter to NORRIS BAIN

An open letter to NORRIS BAIN
Norris Bain Dear Mr. Bain A number of Opposition supporters and myself have worked hard to rid Marco City of a useless Member of Parliament in the person of Zhivargo Laing. Recently, Mr. Laing saw fit to publicly anoint and support you as his able and willing successor, however, as I pointed out then and point out now, there are several reasons why the good people of Marco City will reject you, as...

HUBERT INGRAHAM'S ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS AS HE PREPARE FOR DEFEAT!
Hubert Ingaham and Zhivargo Laing has wrecked the Bahamian econcomy. Both FAILURES WANT ANOTHER TERM but is running from their record. By J.Maxfield Outten When it appeared that nothing further could be done to make the political scene in Grand Bahama more interesting, a Cabinet Minister gets the boot and a second, is hog-tied and shipped out to new pastures in New Providence. Thievery at the Grand Bahama Port Authority?

Thievery at the Grand Bahama Port Authority?
Dear Editor, The movers and shakers at the G. B. Port authority always try to make the General Public in Grand Bahama believe that they have their best interest at heart, with their public  charitable gestures. But they make up for it behind the scene by raising prices on the services that they offer to the unsuspecting public and the most resent was on July 1st 2011, when the residential Garbage...

A letter to Da BP Editor

Dear Sir, It seems that with every passing day that the FNM (Free National Mess) remains in power, we experience a continuing erosion of our democratic principles and processes. This erosion cannot be better personified than in the person of the Prime Minister, Hubert Alexander Ingraham, who continues to treat his colleagues and the country as if they are parts of his personal enterprise. Last week,...

Concerns raised about safety on public buses

A letter to da Editor Dear Editor, The public bus system in New Providence is unsafe and inefficient. On a daily bases bus drivers turn the streets of the capital into a race track in a mad dash for the next $1.25; displaying a wanton disregard for public safety.  At times the music is also painfully loud and customers are held hostage by the chaos and dysfunction.  Passengers are also assaulted...
