2016 Legal Year Opens in the Northern Bahamas

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – The 2016 Legal Year officially got underway in the Northern Bahamas on Friday morning, January 15. Justices, Magistrates and Members of The Bahamas Bar Association paraded from the Garnet Levarity Justice Centre on the Mall to the Pro-Cathedral of Christ the King, where a special church service was held to mark the occasion.

Among those participating in the Parade and Service was Chief Justice of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas Sir Hartman G. Longley and the Attorney General of The Bahamas, Senator the Hon. Allyson Maynard-Gibson, QC. The Chief Justice is pictured taking the official salute while inspecting officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; directly behind him are Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Emrick Seymour and his Aide ASP Advardo Dames.
