Two passengers in the rear of vehicles die in separate incidents
Nassau, Bahamas — Bahamas Press has a breaking news update following the death of that 18-year-old female in the Baillou Hill Road South area this morning.
We can report police has two relatives in custody following the mishap, and here’s what we know.
The incident reportedly occurred around 12:53 am on Sunday and involved a 2010 red Honda Accord and a 1997 blue Land Rover.
According to reports the driver of the Honda Accord was traveling south on Baillou Hill
Road and driver of the Land Rover west along Soldier Road when the two collided.
The deceased was a rear seat passenger in the Honda Accord and died at the scene.
Following the incident, relatives began carrying on bad, and then began attacking the driver of the Land Rover and a police officer who was at the scene.
Both were arrested for their assaults on the police and injury to the driver of the Land Rover. They are expected to be formally charged for the incident. We don’t know yet which one of the drivers ran the red light.
On Saturday another fatality left a man dead. Police are investigating a traffic accident which has left a 53-year-old man dead.
The incident reportedly occurred around 12:15 am on Saturday 29th June, 2013 in the area of Market and Brougham Streets, and involved two (2) vehicles, a white 2004 Honda Accord and a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west on Brougham Street and the driver of the Honda Accord, south on Market Street when the two collided.
The deceased was a rear seat passenger inside the Nissan Pathfinder and was pronounced dead at the scene.

POLICE MAKE FIREARM ARREST
A 32 year old man of Dominica Way is in police custody after being found in possession of a handgun and a quantity of ammunition.
Officers of the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) arrested the man around 5:40 pm on Saturday 29th June, 2013 after executing a search warrant on his home at Golden Gates Estates, where they discovered the items. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE MAKE DRUG ARREST
A 40 year old man of Crooked Island Street is in police custody after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected Marijuana.
Officers the Mobile Division arrested the man around 6:48 pm on Saturday 29th. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING – HANDGUN CONFISCATED
A 25 year old man of Dunmore Street is in stable condition after being shot by police on Saturday 29th.
The incident reportedly occurred around 6:45 pm at John Road and resulted in the suspect being shot to the buttocks and his handgun along with a quantity of ammunition confiscated.
