Nassau, Bahamas – A 26-year-old woman became the country’s latest traffic fatality after she lost control of her 2009 Nissan March and slammed into a tree in eastern New Providence early on Thursday morning.
Bahamas Press has been identified the victim as, Athena Hall, of Yamacraw Drive.
According to police officers received a call shortly after 5am that there was a traffic accident on Yamacraw Hill Road. When they arrived on the scene they discovered that a 2009 Nissan March had collided with a tree. The female driver appeared to be lifeless trapped inside.
Emergency Medical Service personnel were called to the scene and confirmed that the female driver had died. Initial reports reveal that that she was travelling west when she lost control of the vehicle and the right driver’s side made impact with the tree. The vehicle was extensively damaged.
The wet road condition is believed to be the cause of the accident.
Hall was a 2009 graduate of the Doris Johnson High School.
