The Grand Bahama Sports Hall of Fame is saddened of the passing of Wellington “Doc” Stewart. The Committee and Inductees offers its heartfelt condolence to his family.
“Doc” Stewart, a 2008 Inductee has pioneered organized golf in Grand Bahama. Through his efforts as Chairman and Administrator of the Northern Region Golf Association, golf on the island of Grand Bahama has been sustained and given direction. He has been called Administrator Extraordinaire and was considered to be a key component in the restructuring of the National Golf Federation in 1974.
Wellington “Doc” Stewart will surely be missed. He has earned a place among the best of the best and his achievements will forever be recorded in the Grand Bahama Sports Hall of Fame.
