police-chase-2SUDDEN DEATH
Police are investigating the death of a 4 month old infant after he was brought into hospital unresponsive sometime around 6:23 pm, on Friday 9th April, 2010.  It is reported that the parents of the infant collected him from a Day Care Facility and while driving observed the child to be unresponsive.  The infant was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Police are investigating.

STABBING
Sometime around 8:56 pm on Friday 9th April, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Chris’ Bar, Market Street and Bahama Ave.  Police responded and information received from the victim, a 24 year old male, while at Chris’ Bar, Bahama Ave and Market Street he got into an altercation with another male which resulted in him being stabbed to the stomach.  The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is listed in stable condition.  Police have taken a 23 year old male of Garden View Estates into custody.  Police are investigating.

HOMICIDE
Shortly after 10:00 pm on Friday 9th April, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Fire Trail Road east of Gladstone Road.  Police responded and discovered the lifeless body of a male clad in a yellow, blue and white stripe shirt, blue jeans pants and white tennis shoes, lying in the street, with a stab wound to the upper chest area.  Police have taken a 37 year old male of Faith Avenue North into custody in connection with this matter.  Investigations continue.
FIREARM & AMMUNITION ARREST

Sometime around 1:18 am on Saturday 10th April, 2010 police received reports of loud Music in Union Village off Wulff Road.  Police responded and observed two males acting suspiciously.  A search of one of the males age 23 of Chippingham, revealed a handgun and ammunition.  That male was taken into custody. The second suspect was able to evade the police.  Police are continuing their investigations.

ARMED ROBBERY
Sometime around 12:40 am on Saturday 10th April, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Rhodes Street, Blue Hill Heights.  Police responded and information received a male on arrival to his home was approached by a dark male who exited a white Suzuki Jeep L/P unknown clad in a blue shirt and faded blue jeans, allegedly armed with a handgun, who demanded the keys to his 2000 Silver Dodge Ram Truck L/P 35621.  The culprit robbed the victim of his truck and fled the area, followed by the occupant of the white jeep.  Police are investigating.

FATALITY
Sometime around 4:00 am on Saturday 10th April, 2010 police investigated a traffic accident/fatality at the intersection of Baillou Hill Road and Carmichael Road involving a red and white 650 trail motorcycle occupied by two people and  a gold maxima. It is reported that the operator of the motorcycle was travelling North on Baillou Hill Road and the Maxima was traveling south on Baillou Hill when the two collided.  The driver of the gold Maxima fled the scene.  One person from the motorcycle succumbed to injuries at the scene; however, the other person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

At about 1:15 pm on Saturday 10th April, 2010 acting on information police officers proceeded to a Haitian Village off Cowpen Road where they recovered the gold maxima and arrested a 32 year old male of Red Land Acres who is assisting the police with their investigations.

Police would also like to thank members of the public for their assistance in providing information.  It is this kind of partnership between the police and the community that will assist in making the Bahamas a safer place to live, visit, work and play.

FIREARM & AMMUNITION ARREST
Sometime around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday 10th April, 2010 officers of the mobile acting on information searched an Apartment at Soldier Road reference to firearm.    Officers recovered a handgun and ammunition.  Two persons, a 21 year old Jamaican male and a 19 year old American female were taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

SHOOTING
Sometime around 2:40 am on Sunday 11th April, 2010 police received information of a shooting in Bamboo Town.  Police responded and information received a 29 year old female was awoken by the sounds of gunshots and realized that she had been shot to the chest and thigh.  The female was taken to hospital via EMS where she is listed in stable condition.  Police are investigating.
