STABBING
Sometime around 4:20 pm on Wednesday 14th April, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Elizabeth Estates. Police responded and information received two brothers ages 21 and 25 years, got into an altercation which resulted in the younger sibling being stabbed to the upper left back. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel. Police are investigating.
STABBING
Sometime around 4:40 pm on Wednesday 14th April, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Thompson Lane off East Street. Police responded and information received two males got into an altercation which resulted in a 25 year old male being stabbed to the stomach area. The male was taken to hospital via EMS where he is listed in stable condition. Police are investigating.
FIREARM /DRUG ARREST
Sometime around 9:45 pm on Wednesday 14th April, 2010 officers of the Eastern Division executed a search warrant on a residence at Cyprus Court, Elizabeth Estates. Officers searched and recovered a high powered weapon with ammunition, two (2) handguns with ammunition, a bullet proof vest and a quantity of suspected marijuana. A 27 year old male and an 18 year old female were taken into custody. Police are investigating.
FIRE
Shortly before 3:00 am on Thursday 15th April, 2010 police received information of a fire at Imperial Mattress, John F. Kennedy Drive. ‘Fire Services responded and met the entire structure of Imperial Mattress engulfed in flames. The building was totally destroyed and it is believed that the fire may have started in the factory and storage section of the building. The fire was contained within a relatively short period of time. At present the cause of the fire is unknown. Police are investigating.
