DPM COOPER: I met Philip “Brave” Davis at Toastmasters when I came from Exuma more than 30 years ago. He was a renowned and accomplished lawyer even then. Now Prime Minister the Honorable Philip Brave Davis still looms large in my life, and as more than just my prime minister.
He plays a major part in my story.
He reposed a great deal of faith in me as we forged our bonds in the trenches of politics as the smallest official opposition in the history of an independent Bahamas.
I’ve learned much from him as a leader and friend.
I had the honor of presenting my memoir, “Fishinin’ on the Rocks”, to him.
My hope is that more men and women in our Bahamas tell their stories.
