Monday 12th July, 2010

FIREARM ARREST

Sometime around 6:30 pm on Friday 9th July, 2010 officers of the mobile division acting on information attempted to stop a  white Ford Ranger truck L/P T-31103 occupied by two (2) males.  The driver of the truck on seeing the officers sped off a high speed rate. Officers pursued the vehicle and while doing so, officers observed one of the males throwing an object from the vehicle.   Officers stopped the truck and subsequently recovered the object which turned out to be a handgun. Both occupants were arrested.  Police are investigating.

HOMICIDE

Sometime around 7:30 pm on Friday 9th July, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Carmichael Liquor Store, Carmichael Road.  Police responded and information received that a 37 year old male, believed to be prisoner officer, was attacked and stabbed multiple times to the body by a group of men.  The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he succumbed to his injuries.  Police are following significant leads into the matter.  Police Investigations continue.

A 29 year old male is expected to be arraigned in connection with matter on Wednesday 14th July, 2010 at 2:00 pm

FIREARM RECOVERED

Sometime around 8:30 pm on Friday 9th July, 2010 officers of the Central Detective Unit while on routine patrol on Quintine Alley off Wulff Road observed a male with dread locks acting suspiciously.  As the officers approached the suspect, the suspect fled throwing an object to the ground.   Officers retrieved the object which turned out to be handgun.  The suspect was able to evade the police.  Police investigations continue.

STABBING

Sometime around 1:55 am on Saturday 10th July, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Mason‘s Addition..  Police responded and information received that a 13 year old male of West Ave while at Mason’s Addition on the basketball court  was attacked by a group of men and subsequently stabbed multiple times to  the body.  The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he remains in serious but stable condition.  Police are questioning a 15 year old male of Montell Heights in connection with this matter.  Police investigations continue.

ARRAIGNMENT

On Wednesday 14th July, 2010 at 10:00 am a male suspect is expected to be arraigned  in connection with this .
