Nassau, Bahamas — Negotiators with intimate knowledge of the “deal” tell us that the London based telephone company, Cable and Wireless, now owns BTC. Sources tells us that memorandum was signed in December is now agreed upon following a private meeting that no one, not even some MPs in the government, knew about.
BP was reliably informed following the event, the leader of the country left New Providence for Abaco to go fishing. WHAT WICKEDNESS!
Bahamas Press finds this a dastard act of treason by the Ingraham administration, a violation of the Trust of The Bahamian People, and an absolute abandonment of the core principals of transparency and accountability in public life.
We grossly detest the decision by the government to proceed with the sale of BTC amid huge disapproval by the Bahamian people of its decision to do so.
Amid clear facts of Corruption, Insider Trading, LIES and SLEAZE by board members including BTC Chairman, Julian Francis, Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has ignored all of the concerns exposed for all to see on the sale of the profitable corporation in a move to satisfy his foreign partners.
The Parliament, which has exclusive authority to transfer the ownership of such public assets, is yet to be informed; MPs, including those representing the government side, have confirm they have yet to see the original Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 2nd, 2010, between the Ingraham Government and Cable and Wireless. More Importantly, the Ingraham Administration, in its dictatorial style, has refused to circulate the agreement as promised.
Now we are told, despite the transfer of the ownership having been completed, come Monday, AFTER THE FACT, Ingraham shall table the MOU for Parliamentary debate.
The move however could stir a major uprising in the Bahamas, unseen since the last general strike, which could echo the calls for the Ingraham administration to leave office.
Bahamas Press finds this BACKSIDE RAPE of the public land and assets UNACCEPTABLE and DESPICABLE, to say the least.
Those who are elected to office are expected to guard the sacred entities entrusted to them by the Bahamian people and should not be seen NAKEDLY ABDICATING POWER INTO FOREIGN HANDS!
We detest this TREASONOUS ACTION BY THE INGRAHAM GOVERNMENT to sell BTC to Cable and Wireless behind the backdoor and we warn all and sundry that is partaking in this action to cease and desist immediately! We call on the entire Cabinet of Hubert Ingraham to resign IMMEDIATELY and FORCE AN EARLY ELECTION WHEN PARLIAMENT CONVENES MONDAY MORNING!
OH…I forgot if we break the agreement we we’ll have to pay $100Mil.
WHO WRITES THIS STUFF…
NO BAHAMIAN could have written this. This must be C&W or someone who will be getting the 51% profit.
We have many concerns coming from different directions…all of which have their place around the table in this BTC issue.
Lower rates…is fine but you don’t need to give away 51% of the business for that. Government could say at any time what the rates should be.
Which Business Man Bahamian or not will sell 51% of his OWN business and take 49% then pay the buyer to operate it plus give him 2% of GROSS.
To top things off C&W estimates BTC to be worth $750Mil and we’ll end up with ($210-$15) less than $200Mil. AND THE MAJORITY OF GOVERNMENT WILL SUPPORT THIS…..WOW.
I guess world organizations who make it their business to shackle small countries down with debt that they know you can’t pay finally found a way to take what Bahamians have…IF WE HAD OIL they would have been here much sooner.
This is really sad.
BUT It’s not a DONE deal….NOT BY FAR….
I notice that HAI have put foreigners in strategic places like head of URCA & COURTS so when time to sign stuff they know who sign their paychecks. BUT I guess he’ll do the MPs the same way. They better fall in line.
Ok people………the sale of BTC is a mere distraction. Please pay close attention! Something bigger is on the board that will knock our socks off our feet. Clue…….Do you think Bahamar is interested is obtaining service from an English company when they have the best communications at their disposal? Life span of C & W???? A year and a half!!
Broken Bahamas. Mr Hubert Ingraham is the best thing
for the bahamas at this time Saying he is evil can not make it so.they said atlantis was bad they said
goodman bay and saunders beach was bad But look at them now I think you need to know evil before it eat you up inside!
Those that agree with the sale of BTC to foreigners are quick to state that they have based their “sell the darn thing” decision, chiefly on the poor service being provided by both the equipment and employees. To this degree most Bahamians would be in total agreement with you. But lets’ be fair and pretend that for the past umpteen years, your employer had created uncertainty by making it public that they were shopping for a buyer for the company you have worked at for years, resulting in them not reinvesting for years in updating technology, or for training programs. Now with this knowledge in mind, how motivated would you be to provide improved customers service, knowing that your employer displayed obvious neglect for you, your colleagues, and your customers? The new company has promised the government that they will retain all the existing employees at BTC, and to invest in new technology. My question is simple. What stopped this FNM, or the previous PLP government, from modernizing BTC? How come no one is willing to place the blame where it rightly belongs, at the door of the FNM, and PLP, for their years of downright, blatant neglect at BTC?
This is a strange argument about the sale of BTC. In America companies like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T etc compete for phone business in the private sector which drives down rate, increases technological advances and forces better customer service practices. My only complaint is that bahamian business people need to create their own companies. Enough with this government utility nonsense. Lets privatize utilities hopefully in the hands of bahamian business people. Open 5 more phone companies ran by bahamians and compete with Cable and Wireless. Stop Whinning lets Compete….Forget the Government.. Built Cell Towers, start a business, hire bahamians…
Yeah Cedric, your plan sounds great, but have you read the MOU? “Careless & Wutless” is being offered a 3 year monopoly, which will be passes on to Cable Bahamas and by the time their exclusivity clauses have expired, some new means of communicating will have been invented! Leaving you in the same boat as those who invested heavily in Beeper technology when the Cell phone and Ipods were soon to be the replacement technology!
Now is the time!
Glad btc is being sold because my own ppl give the worst service, have the worst attitudes. Almost everyday since I was about 18 I’ve experienced lamentable customer service. Foreign does need to take over IF a bahamian was giving many years/chances. But I do see the principle of it all. That IngRum is pure evil. A black, ugly Hitler! Gone fishing?! Anyone who votes for him is a fool!!!!
Yea pratty dat lady is somthing else boy.she better be careful. She like tell people to demonstrate when she on the losing end.
And as for you Joey, no real man who receives aid from a female as I offered you last evening on this thred, should be so “ballsless” as to turn around and agree with his attacker! You are precisely the caliber of human being that has brought The Bahamas to this day of shame and open rebuke!
I seriously doubt that you are a Bahamian and would therefore suggest that you keep your spineless contributions out of our national business!
Not you again Lady Phillipa Russell inciting people to demonstrate.Remember what happened the last time you did that ?
No Pratty, I do not ever recall telling anyone to demonstrate, but please tell me what you remember? I trust that you are a female, since no real man would take pleasure and gloat in seeing injustice perpetrated against a fellow citizen. But please tell me your version of the occasion when I incited “people” to demonstrate? You spineless coward!
Like I said before. Every day we see an increase in the number of our Bahamian Families, FNM’s included, who are too darn proud to even admit that they are; “Catching Hell and calling it a good time.” How much more jerking around by big shot politicians on both sides of the House of Assembly can the people take? The one thing they cannot take from us is our voices. When they are voting for the sale of BTC, we need to demand that the remaining 49% ownership of BTC should be divided equally between all Bahamians, including our children. Bahamians own it and not the FNM or PLP or the Unions. BTC belongs to, We All The People, and they should not make us get down on our knees to beg for Shares in BTC. We done own it.
all of you idiots who are against the sale of btc: i did not hear a damn thing when brad and perry sold btc to blue water. it is about time some imporvements are make in this country. sell it hubert! and, i still think that brad is a donkey-hole.
It is sad when Bahamians are happy to be consumers and laborers in their own country instead of Owners. No wonder C & W can say that after they acquire BTC it will still be a Bahamian company because of the native staff and customers. Despite owning 100% we will now own 49%. This reminds of a merchant who complains about the cost of his merchandise, but celebrate its profits.
The rates are controlled by the Govt and they elected to keep them high to enjoy those hefty dividends. Most people agree that BTC should be privatized and the telecommunications sector liberalized but not at this cost and rate of deception.
History will mark Bahamar, BTC and the Dredging of the Land and Seapark as matters that showed the glaring disparity between the natives and foreigners. That it is now better in the Bahamas for Foreigners than the Commoners. The FNM does not fear been rejected at the Polls cause most of them done straight. Deal after Deal these MPS will be enjoying the fat of the land, while the masses cannot afford to buy any land. The PM and his cohorts pensions are straight. The GG pension is set along with private insurances.
It will be V who will have cheaper cell phone rates, but no more free land line calls, service calls etc. So you reduce the cellphone rate and increase in other areas. Just remember ESAU he didn’t appreciate the value of his birth right until it was gone.
Get ready for what!we are paying to much now
and calling it profits stop and think! we the customers. And we are carrying BTC and the employees let get to work shit!
It’s a sad day in the Bahamas when a foreigner is the only hope we have of making things “Better in the Bahamas”. When will we ever give ourselves credit and appreciate our own sun, sand and sea. My fellow Bahamians, the grass may look greener on the other side but I assure you, the water bill is also higher and the foreigners are maintaining that luscious green landscape..If I recall, the PLP’s selling the Bahamas to foreigners and the Crime Epidemic was the FNM’s campaign message during the last general election of 2007…. Get ready to PAY UP!!!!!!
the only employees at btc who do not want it sold are the crooked ones that makes deals like selling phones under the table. They are the reasons why btc must be sold.Especially the supervisor who tried to sell my husband a phone for two hundred dollars. She was on rm bailey big and bold making noise in front of the camera
YA GET WHA YA VOTE FOR, AS I STATED DURING ELECTION TIME; NAH YA GET WHA YA VOTE FOR SO DEAL WITH IT; PAPA DON’T CHANGE, ONLY CLOTHES IS CHANGE! I AM NOT SURPRISED OF PAPA. ARE YOU?

No I don’t want to, I am an educator and a communication person I understand where our strength lies and what our grandchildren will need to make themselves a part of their technical world. Perhaps you should have a read also. Most governments in the world are spending millions for broadband because the private sector will not. In the Bahamas only the profitable centres, Nassau Freeport will grow. The “Out Islands” will stay in the old world. As a private investor would you spend in areas where there is no profit? The link:

Thank you Lord!!! God doesn’t make mistakes he brought HAI back to help us all to progress, yes it was God who put him there after PGC continue to cover up for his corrupt cabinet ministers. We can’t move forward if we continue to listen to the fear mongers, this is just what Joshua had to go through he told the people not to be afraid we are well able to win (take the city) as long as the Government has these cash cows they will continue to use the people and mismanage the corporations. I say sell. When the plp was in I never even know they were in discussion with a company name blue water to sell until after the election! They want forum committee for everything and never make a decision!
@ Guy Fawkes
Perhaps you should do some reading on the social effects of privatization learn from someone else misfortune. Go to this link.

@Tech2: You don’t want a privatized BTC? Wow….
Sad day when unions urge their memebers to cause problems in this soft economy. how many people would lose their jobs, homes, family, a good standing of living. We need to take our unions back from the group of females who seem to have plenty BALLs. for the wrong reasons. TOO much politics, remember when we blow-up and burn down, this is still our country. we will then have to start running to other land because we acted stupidly because of politics.
@Tech,
You should site sources better in the future. Your link is to another link for peer reviewed a peered review journal, but does not outline which article you are referencing that is on topic. The beauty of this mistake (should you wish to call it that), is that in 3 years we can correct it with competition. When you do decide to send the new link, as many COB lecturers would advise “make sure it is relevant and recent”. I am tired of people site articles from 1999 (when the FNM government also indicated that they would not do business with C&W) as their benchmark. Companies are just like governments they make mistakes, and their philosophies change over time and with new management.
Tony how ignorant can one be LTE or 4g technology was just launched in the US and it has not been fully implemented. BTC is 3rd in technology only behind Canada and the US as the large carriers go the smaller ones follow. There is no way in hell C&W could launch 4g before the US and Canada they don’t have that much clout. C&W has 13 territories 3g is only available in PARTS of Jamaica their other netwroks lag far behind. We went from being the house negro to going back and being the yard negro. It suprises me to see the negros rejoicing about being second class. If you have a million dollars the more you divide it by the less one gets. Take that same million and divide it by one and you get a bigger portion. I am confidant we Bahamians can run it efficiently but hey that’s like trying to see how much licks it takes to get to the middle of a tootsie bar we will never know
What is funny about the 4g comment is that BTC is currently working to implement 4g to bahamians. BTC is third in this hemisphere as far as technology behind the US and Canada. So how is C&W or LIME going to improve us when we are already ahead of them, Lord, Wake Up my people. The sad thing is 4g will be implemented because we the people have already paid for it but we are so easily fooled that we will beleive the lies that C&W were the one to bring it to us. Wake Up!!!!
Regardless if you whether you are a PLP/FNM, or if you have supported or not supported the sale of BTC, I think on the day the House is going to vote on the sale of BTC, thousands of Bahamians should show up and peacefully remind every member of the House of Assembly, exactly who really owns BTC, and let them know that as the real owners, we are entitled to one “free” voting share in the new BTC.
I agree with you whole heartedly Grouper!!. With that in mind, I appeal to the masses who want BTC sold to match any and all protest against this sale in a peaceful bid to get the government to do the right thing. Why are we allowing the minority to tell us that BTC should not be sold for some bogus reason, which we are not in agreement. They should be trying to change our minds on this issue, not bully their decision down our throats. I call on every Bahamian in agreement with the sale to meet on Bay Street to protest any union’s protest. The unions keep talking about taking this country back, but they are talking about taking it back from us, the Bahamian people. I am going to post this on as many websites as possible under as many stories as possible. Let the fire that was ignited by our forefathers burn deep within us now. We have complained about BTC for far too long, why are we letting a real option to fix our complaints be pushed out of this country.
We knew far more about this deal than we knew about Bluewaters.
A utility company is not for the benefit of the employees, but the customers.
The people deserve better service than BTC provided. The cost of our service will also go down.
The slackers, who don’t want to work will now produce or get their R’s kicked – as they deserve.
Costs will go down . . . . really – that’s before or after they charge you per minute for local land line calls??? Its amazing how some people are STILL not aware of the practices of C&W. Many are in for a Rude Awakening.
Windtell,
You could not have said it any better. I would really like to know who guranteed that we would receive all of these things that BTC apprarently did not and cannot provide.
But you know windtell, if BTC as is, was to put an ad in the papers for jobs, how many of these same people would be lined up at the front door in hopes of landing a job in the proclaimed GOD AWFUL BTC!! THERE WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH PAPER ON THE ISLAND TO ACCOMMODATE THE RESUMES.
Envy is a seriously destructive emotion! As Dr Elwood Donaldson shared on HARDCOPY last Friday: “There has always been some of us, willing to sell All of us, for a little something!
This was the primary reason that slavery of the Black race lasted so long, Hubert Alexander Ingraham is a primary example of the low life character Negro who is placed in a position of authority to perpetuate systems of economic bondage which we thought had been destroyed with the realization of Majority Rule!
But, may I assure you that sad will be the lot of any politician who goes into the House of Assembly to vote for LIME! Yes, it will be their last TIME! The last time that politician struts around pretending to be honourable, intelligent or patriotic!
Mass terminations are imminent, should this insulting conversation about the sale of 51% of BTC’s shares to “Careless & Wutless” continues!
This deal should be blocked in Parliament, unless an amendment is included and agreed to by all parties, that will give every single living Bahamian, one “free” voting share in the new BYC. BTC belongs to all Bahamians and not the FNM power brokers.
My father told me a long time ago that ” common sense is a burden to a jackass”. As a people we should not be allowed to own anything in this country. I say sell everything, as simple as the barge that brings in all the water from Andros, we don’t own, the only consolation about this sale , the FNM will not have enough time to complete BEC, Water and Bahamas air.
Thank God BTC is sold. This means lower rates, better customer service and new technologies. Four G is coming to The Bahamas.
Tony:
Please tell us or better yet, provide documentation to back up your claim that LIME will a – GURANTEE LOWER RATES
B- IMPROVED CUSTOMER SERVICE
C- 4G TECHNOLOGY.
Nothing in life is guaranteed my friend, in case you didn’t know. The sad truth is that LIME HAS NOT PROVIDED ANY NUMERICAL DATA TO INDICATE THAT BAHAMIANS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO BETTER RATES. Please, it is appalling to see so many of my Bahamian Brothers and Sisters in 2011 are still SO DAMN IGNORANT AND UNINFORMED. PLEASE PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELVES AND STOP BEING IGNORANT. YOUR CHILDREN’S LIVES DEPEND ON IT. YOU WONDER WHY WE HAVE A “D” AVERAGE IN THIS COUNTRY, ITS BECAUSE OF ADULTS LIKE YOU WHO JUST BLURT OUT ANY GIBBERISH WITHOUT PROVIDING FACTUAL INFORMATION TO BACK UP YOUR CLAIMS.
EDUCATE YOURSELVES SO THAT YOU CAN BE ELEVATED TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND NOT REMAIN SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY.
HOWEVER, IF IN FACT YOU DO HAVE INFORMATION TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM, PLEASE SHARE IT WITH THE REST OF US SO THAT WE TOO CAN BE INFORMED AS YOU CLAIM TO BE.
WAKE UP BAHAMIANS, WE ARE NO LONGER ON THE PLANTATION, THIS GENERATION OF VOTERS ARE EDUCATED AND INFORMED AND WE DO , WELL THOSE OF US WHO STILL HAVE MANNERS, SAY ‘YES SIR’, BUT WE, BY NO MEANS SAY ‘MASSA’!!!
WAKE UP MY PEOPLE WAKE UP!!
It amazes me to see that people are willing to sell their birth right for 30 pieces of silver. Lower cell phone rates pathetic. We were owners now we are slaves. We the people ran it for 100 years and know we don’t own it. If you reduce the rates that has to be made elsewhere i.e. inter exchange calling, directory assistance, repairs etc. We were sensible to elect a Bahamian government but not sensible to run a debt free corporation. Mr. Government how can you ask me the electorate to vote for you when you fire my brother, my aunt, my sister, and Bahamians in general. We are the laughig stock of the Caribbean. LOWER PHONE RATES what a joke. No wonder why the national average is a “D” that means dangerous. This issue is much much bigger than lower rates. Do research and see what a corrupt company we are dealing with. Sir Lynden Pindling vision of Bahamianization just got set back 50 years. To the government I dare say “IF YOU VOTED FOR LIME THEN DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME”
@30 pices of silver: You are a drama queen. BTC is not anyone’s birthright and none of us our slaves. Please grow up and stop abusing the true meaning of these powerful words! SMT
@30 pices of silver – Couldn’t agree with u more. Instead of 100% ownership and control – lower rates and service are all some people want out of life, not realizing that these can be achieved without the selling of a profitable national asset. This is what happens with the dumbing-down of the masses – people don’t see value when its right in the front of them, and they are easily hoodwinked.
@ 30 pieces of silver
I could not agree with you more! Maybe we should let C&W run the govt and then pay them a management fee for the privilege!
Like mama say, “Boy, you mustee fall down and buck yina head!! Or Like I would say, “Are you just dumb or plain stupid!” Wake up, Bahamas, wake up!!
stop all da talking lets go vote.they change btc now lets change them.
IF THIS IS TURE! GOOD….. BTC WILL STILL NAME BTC
AND THE COMPANY IS STILL HERE AND WE STILL OWN 49%
THE RATE MUST COME DOWN AND THE SERVES WILL GET BETTER SO LET US GO ON TO THE NEXT ONE.EVERYTHING
THIS GOV DO IS APOSSE BY SOME BUT MORE WHO SIT SILENT
APROVE.BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO LET MR CHRISTIE BACK.
@Ricky, Boy go and let your KIDS read this posting for you please, cause you lonely could be FNM, and I aint mean Foreign National Movement.
This sounds all the same to me. The old BTC is broken down, so the FNM sell it cheap to a freshly registered company. Didn’t they admit to having had problems delivering what they had promised another government? How many names do these foreigners operate under? Why the PM didn’t release a plan of what they going do to improve services? So far I been getting better communications between me and my dead grandpa, than from the PM office on this sale.
Why can’t the blind see, that selling BTC is the wish of the Bahamian people. We were sick and tired of Batelco 10 years ago, and we are sick and tired of BTC now. As BP says on a constant basis “We need Change” and C&W is offering us that needed change, and as the saying goes which we can say to the unions, the employees and anyone else that attempts to stand in the way of our change; “You and Fish, Cut bait or get the hell out of the boat”.
No sale is done until parliament approves. Let your MP know your wishes. They will have to vote on it.The wishes of the people lies with them.
Thank you Joey, for your explanation of how our system is supposed to function. Rest assured however, that on the day of the “vote” every Parliamentarian will be clearly instructed that if they vote for LIME, then they are FIRED!
I thought I would share the quote by Lean to show just how some foreigners feel about some of us.We all saw how a person called newsman and sexy caramel felt now this.
Here is what Lean Bodie who was born in Trinidad but now lives in the bahamas;said on facebook:they should sell i with them if bahamians cant do the job properly why should bahamians keep it….its like the bahamian company who is in charge of fixing all the traffic lights…half of them are never on….so if they are not willing to …give the people 150% why shouldnt they sell…there are always people ready and willing to give better service…most bahamian people dnt want do their own jobs…half of them are on facebook while at work…so why get mad when foreigners want to do their job and better…..noone wants to work hard anymore….See More

As Sir Elton John’s song goes “Its all over and sorry seems to be the hardest word Its sad, so sad Its a sad, sad situation”
Guy fawkes, I hope you dont be the first to get burn when this BTC situation is fully completed, because you really sound like a JACK ASS, just like your leader. GO TO HELL.
@Very Angry,
Sticks & stones, my friend. Your comment does not add anything to your cause. And yes The Right Hon. Hubert A. Ingraham is “my” Prime Minister, but who said I am an FNM.
@ Guy Fawkes
You taking some sense but two wrongs ain’t going make this deal right with Bahamians cause both FNM’s and PLP’s don’t like how it is being handled. I think the government and all his cabinet, directly or indirectly, should make any and all disclosures if they are their family members stand to benefit from this sale of BTC? Is the government, or private parties, retaining ownership of all lands associated with BTC? We Bahamians cocking our had and demanding the PM reveal it all, because we need to know if any of them FNM’s DNA is on this deal. We ain’t here nothing yet about how they going guarantee Bahamas their phone going work better and cheaper? Since you FNM already know we like cheap deals the plan better make sense us all. We want the names of them all, from the lawyers to the accounts on who is who and what they making out this sale of BTC?
this is crazy, i still cant believe they did this omg big trouble for them……
Finally BTC has been sold. The government has finally carried out the wishes of the poeple. It has taken three governments and two parties to accomplish this goal. I can’t see to understand why this is even such a politically charged debate when both governments have indicated that they wished to sell BTC. The only difference between the two deals are the players. If the rumors about Blue water were true, then neither buyers were Bahamian. Even down to the 49% vs 51% debate can be attrituded to mere nonsense created to caused confusion. There would have been no real changes at BTC once the government had the final say in any decision, or where politicians could at the drop of a dime change key decision makers to suit their needs.
Before this whole C&W deal there was not a single Bahamian that did not call on the government to sell BTC. My question to the people opposing this deal, is what has changed and why can’t the government sell BTC now….
My dad would always talk about Sir Harry Oakes owing one-third of the land in Nassau, acre by acre bought through Realtor Harold Christie, for pennies on the dollar. He said if Sir Harry had not been murdered he would have ended up the sole employer of Bahamians. Seems like the same picture is taken place in 2011, except this time it’s a few foreigners, lead by a foreign government.
Alright! It finally gon be better fa da small man!!! 3G service, cheaper cell rates and iphones! Time to move on ta mor serious tings man. SMDT
I pray this is not ‘true’ and I hope the deal is not done! But, if it is true it reminds me of something my mother always told me growing up! “(Boy) If you can’t hear, you gon feel”! The FNM govt may have the power but the Bahamian people are the ones who gave it to them! Always remember that!!
@ Conchman:
ARE YOU READY TO SHOW WHO IS TRULY IN CHARGE OF THE BAHAMAS? THIS IS THE ONLY REAL QUESTION!IF YOU ARE READY, THEN WE WILL SEE YOU ON BAY STREET, REAL SOON.
why in the world would any bahamian support the sale of b.t.c.to c&w?this present gov.cannot be trusted
The government can not sell BTC without Parliamentary approval.
Das alright that ga come afterward! Its DONE!
BP
LIME IS HERE!
Media, Dee don’t understand. She OVERstand. LOL.
The Foreign Nationals (only) Movement is the WORST administration this independent Bahamas has ever seen! From Lyford Cay-Caves-Bay Street-Eastern Road has a heavy price to pay for screwing around with our assets.
Ready to fight for what we believe in – by any means necessary!
Foreign nationals movement. Good one.
For the commenter that stated they are looking forward to better customer service, you will be in for a sweet surprise when you realize that it will be the same people but just higher rates. Customer service is not based on who owns the company, it is based on the country’s willingness to SERVE. We in the Bahamas demand so much from one another but we’re not willing to go the extra mile for someone else.
As for Hubert Ingraham, I am totally disgusted by this action. I didn’t oppose the sale, I opposed the secrecy behind it and this action right here just shows that Hubert Ingraham lacks customer service for the country he SERVES.
If the people working there won’t provide good customer service then CW can bring in new people, right?
NO NO NO IF, But IF we who work there now fail to do our jobs, It would be wise to replace us right?
BP
Right. That’s just what I mean. The workers better be prepared to work because CW will want a return on their investment. Deyeen jokin.
The point still remains, a change in company will not increase customer service. We as a country have failed to provide quality customer service in ALL aspects and no change to a foreign entity is going to make a difference. Its just MORE money heading OUT the country rather than circulating within it. Don’t change the company, change the PEOPLE IN IT WHO LACK VISION.
To paraphrase the Bob Dylan song,”The answer is blowing in the wind.”How many ears must Hubert Alexander Ingraham have before he can hear the cries of the BAHAMIAN PEOPLE?How many MIDDLE class Bahamians must DIE FINANCIALLY before mr.Ingraham REALIZES THAT THE MIDDLE CLASS IS NO MORE?Bahamians please notice what the leaders of those Middle East countries reduced their people to.
What’s done is done! Let’s just move on and hope for the best.
So said the Egyption people then 30 years later…
Agree…
Yes the service may not be the best but really this is about the way the FNM has done this. They have lost my vote and if I even see Cargo Vargo this election he gah hear it. Why the secrecy when the people are clearly against it? But Ingraham you gah feel the wrath of the people this time. Just as Sir Lynden did when he pushed us too far.
OFcourse it is Joey and Cooke, it now mean you or someone you know will get 3% for their role in selling the Bahamian people TRUST!
BP
I don’t think that they get that it’s not necessarily the sale of BTC that have people up in arms but how it was done. While they may be glad about this transaction, this time. What about the next transaction next time? You have to think long term people.
Yes!!!! This is fantastic news!!
Looking forward to better customer service.
Finally, good riddence the old car is gone.Thank God
What blatant disregard for the people whom they claim to serve!
