Who will defend the BACKSIDE RAPE OF THE BAHAMIAN WORKFORCE? NOT DION FOULKES AND NOT THE FNM!

Minister of Labour Dion Foulkes

>>> Where was Dion Foulkes when Bahamians were fired at Sandals? Foreign Labour now hired to replace Bahamians!

Nassau, Bahamas – The Minister of Labour, Dion Foulkes, could be heard this week calling on the President of the BPCOU, Bernard Evans, to apologize for statements made to turn the Bahamas into a mini Egypt.

Somewhere in the back a Cowpen Road in the Constituency of the Parliament’s Pillsbury ‘Doughboy’ Dion made his request known, and before we know it, the statement was all over the press.

Foulkes who has finally decided to raise his head believes the People of the Bahamas have forgotten his ill gains from the poor people of Stephen’s Close, who to this day are suffering from his sloppy legal work.

Readers would remember Foulkes was the WUTLESS lawyer who served that residents bad legal title following the purchase of property in the community. They were eventually order to get off the land, and the minister disappeared into the FNM. The actions by Foulkes are just short of fraud, but we are not surprise. That is the makeup of the modern day FNM Cabinet, which collects men who seems to have an infectious disease of having Sticky Hands, tapered with Scandal, Corruption and SICK HEADS.

However, while the minister was so busy doing his politicking this week, we wonder how much attention he has been paying to his Department of Labour, which appears to be a participant in taking job opportunities from Bahamians and delivering them into the hands of foreigners.

Investigations conducted by Bahamas Press reveal some serious incidents involving foreign labour in the Bahamas at a resort called Sandals Royal Bahamian here in Nassau and in Exuma.

Reliable sources in the position to know tell us since the mass firing of Bahamians at the property in 2008 and 2009, foreign labour now dominates the management team, and this is just the beginning of our story.

On September 2nd, 2009 Bahamas Press reported the termination of some 80 workers at Sandals. We confirmed from officials the group was made redundant on Monday 31st, August 2009. A  year earlier [2008] the company had fired 150 Bahamians and again the men in the Cabinet of the Bahamas, which have accumulated frequent flyer miles on Butch Stuarts jet, said not a damn word.

Just last week Bahamas Press had completed a labour audit at this same property both here in Nassau and Exuma and what we have uncovered is indeed shocking. Here’s what we know.

Sandals has since hired an almost 100% foreign staff management to replace Bahamians.

Here are the lists of foreigners now in key positions at the properties.

1.      General Manager – Foreigner

2.      Hotel Manager – Foreigner

3.      Director of F & B – Foreigner

4.      F & B Manager – Foreigner

5.      Financial Controller – Foreigner

6.      Ass Financial Controller – Foreigner

7.      Internal Audit (Accounts Clerk) – Foreigner

8.      Operations Manager – Foreigner

9.      Operations Manager – Foreigner

10.   Director of Sales – Foreigner  (former Bahamian Director of Sales trained the expatriate and then he was fired)

11.   Ass to Director of Guest Services – Foreigner  (Came in as intern now permanent employee)

12.   Water sports Manager – Foreigner

13.   Cost Controller – Foreigner

14.   Concierge Manager – Foreigner (Uses excessive EXPLETIVES against employees)

15.   Grounds Manager – Foreigner

16.   Chief Engineer – Foreigner

17.   Assistant Chief Engineer – Foreigner

18.   Security Manager – Foreigner (A few weeks ago made an employee stripped to underwear because $40 was alleged to be missing, money never found). He has said he hates Bahamians but he is trying to get his Jamaican daughters residency.

19.    Executive Chef – Foreigner

20.   Asst. Executive Chef – – Foreigner

21.   Asst Executive Chef – Foreigner

22.   Senior Executive Chef – Foreigner

23.   Executive Pastry Chef – Foreigner

24.   Entertainment Manager – Foreigner (Has been in the Bahamas for 15 years)

25.   Spa Manager – Foreigner

26.   Projects Manager – Foreigner

These persons have no specialized skills we are advised, whereby the majority of Bahamian staff holds degrees.

Bahamas Press wonders how did all these workers acquire work permits? Was former Junior Minister for Immigration, Branville McCartney, aware of this sellout by his former immigration department or was this mass influx of foreign labour the reason behind him leaving the “NO COMPASSION” Cabinet of the Bahamas? What is the reasoning behind the termination of Bahamians and the later elevation of those foreign labours? Here’s a question Dion Foulkes should answer!

There are 20 interns, who have been at the resort for more than 1 year. The new practice at the resort we are told are to bring in foreign interns and then make them permanent employees.

Meanwhile we are advised conditions at Emerald Bay are deteriorating. Workers there we are told work 6 days a week with some 11-14 hours shift a day. The practice is near slavery and the PLANTATION appears to be getting away with it.

Complaints have been filed at both the Labour Board and Immigration departments, but the outgoing government, sacked with corruption and scandal headed by Hubert Ingraham cannot offer a reply. They found their voices to slap down Union President Bernard Evans, but MUMS THE WORD WHEN IT COMES TO DEFENDING THE JOB MARKET FOR BAHAMIANS!

Dion Foulkes should hang his head down in ‘Dutty’ Shame!

STANDUP! FIND YOUR TONGUE TO PROTECT BAHAMIANS AT SANDALS! FIND YOUR TONGUE TO DEFEND THE CORRUPT PRACTICES AGAINST THE BAHAMIAN WORKFORCE AT SANDALS! Minister, DO YA DAMN JOB OR CARRY YA YOU_KNOW_WHAT!

Yes, this is personal to BP!

DAMN, WE NEED CHANGE!

  1. why would any foreigner really want to become citizens of our country, with this kind of politics present? certainly not to be recognized as a bahamian whose existense is being determined by the politics of the day.

  2. THIS MAY BE A BIT OF TOPIC BUT CAN MINISTER LAING OR SENATOR FOULKES REDO THE BAHAMAS CURRENT ECONOMIC MODEL, OR ARE THEY TO PROUD TO ASK Dr OLIVIA SAUNDERS FOR HELP, WAITING TO SEE THE MIDTERM BUDGET.

  3. @Papa Don’t Care
I now take the iniative to get the ball rolling by chipping-away your feeble points.
There is not such thing as a “Christian nation” because Christianity is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The decision to serve God MUST BE A FREE CHOICE AND AN INDIVIDUAL DECISION (there is no such thing as group salvation – every man must ask God to forgive HIM). You can have many, even a majority of the citizens who have decided to become Christiasn but that does not automatically make the nation a Christian nation. In a democracy the will of the majority can be imposed upon the minority. This fact accounts for Christianity being imposed upon this nation. In other nations where the majority are of the Muslim faith the teachings and faith of Islam is imposed upon their minority, and so on. I FAIL TO SEE YOUR POINT ABOUT “CHURCH PEOPLE” GOVERNING THIS NATION BETTER WHEN THEY CAN’T EVEN FORM NETWORKS AMONGST THE VARIOUS DENOMINATIONS DUE TO PETTY JEALOUSY, INSECURITY AND EACH WANTING THE SPOTLIGHT OVER ANOTHER. FOR GOD SAKE, THESE RELIGIOUS JOKERS CAN’T EVEN COME TOGETHER TO CONDUCT NATIONAL PRAYER SERVICES BECAUSE OF THE BAD BLOOD AND JEALOUSY AMONGST THEM (ONE HAS A LARGER CONGREGATION, OR DRIVES A BETTER CAR, OR LIVES IN A LARGER HOUSE, OR HAS A NEWER AND LARGER CHURCH BUILDING). What are you saying? Believe you over what we know and see daily. Okay(LOL).

  4. @Papa Don’t Care
Some people (like you) are too stupid to engage in robust debate. Like someone said recently, “don’t argue with fools because they first bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.” If you want to have a sensible and intelligent discussion then I am open to take you on. On any matter. How about the Holy Scripture, which you seem to believe that you know something about. Ground rules: (1) We keep the discussion on the high ground. (2) When an irrefutable point is made by either side the other side must acknowledges it and confess it to be so. (3) We agree to allow our views to be informed by CORRECT KNOWLEDGE HENCEFORTH. Don’t insult your way out of accepting the challenge (unless you’re one of those under-informed, quoting scriptues idiots who shout “amen” without understanding it). TAKE THE CHALLENGE OR SHUT UP!!! SOME PEOPLE, REALIZING THAT THEY FALL SHORT IN THE INTELLIGENCE DEPARTMENT, ATTEMPT TO COMPENSATE FOR THAT DEFICIENCY BY BEING VERBALLY OFFENSIVE. IS THAT YOU … FAGGET?

  5. STORM & RUSSELL JOHNSON both of you sound like to SISSIES having a fight. I hope storm is a female and not a heshe.

The PLP & FNM are all the same just different signatures, they both forget who put them in power when they get in government. What we need is a party with Christian and Spiritual principals who FEAR & BELIEVE in the LORD. The Bahamas is NOT and i repeat NOT a Christian nation, it’s a nation where Satin is in control where in order to get a top position in either government or the police force you have to be GAY(like the same sex). Most of the members of the christian counsel are either GAY or they like boys on the side. So when you have Satin in the pulpits of the churches then you should not expect any better from the followers.

  6. @Russell Johnson – You practice “spinning” while denouncing the practice and denounce “issues avoidance” while moving along the edge on the important issues that Bahamians are grappling with today. There is a distinct difference between “floating” and “diving” Russell, and just because both are done in water doesn’t mean that intelligent Bahamians don’t know the difference (just like comparing your “comments” to “propaganda”). Again, I declare: I AM AN UNBIAS, INDEPENDENT VOTER WHO HAS VOTED IN SUPPORT OF BOTH MAJOR PARTIES (PLP & FNM) DURING GENERAl ELECTIONS. MY POSTINGS, INTEREST AND MOTIVATION STEMS FROM A DESIRE TO SEE THE BEST POLICY DECISIONS, POLITICAL ADMINISTRATION AND OPPORTUNITIES EXTENDED TO ALL BAHAMIANS. I AM NOT A MESSENGER FOR THE PLP, FNM, NDP, BDM OR ANY INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE, NOR AM I SYMPATHETIC TO ANY OF THEM OR THEiR AGENDAS. I CHALLENGE ONE RUSSELL JOHNSON TO REPEAT THESE WORDS AND ATTRIBUTE THEM TO HIS POLITICAL VIEWS AND POLITICAL STANDING. YOU WHO HAVE READ HIS POSTS “SINCE 2007” WILL BE THE JUDGE OF THE MEASURE OF HONESTY ASSOCIATED WITH HIS RESPONSE. I WILL BE TO BUSY LAUGHING AT HIM FOR DISPLAYING SUCH AUDACITY – YOU KNOW HIM WELL (HOW DO YOU SAY BIAS TO THE CORE AND IRREDEEMABLY PLP – OH, JUST SAY RUSSELL JOHNSON).

  7. Digression is the most effective method to get prudent persons to forget about the subject and engage in tedious diatribe. The issue at hand is the non Bahamianization of many jobs that can be filled by qualified Bahamians. It is clear that the present Govt wishes to mashup its population and make them second class citizens. From the many glaring examples given in previous postings on this subject matter, a critical time has arrived in whether we salvage the little left or just give everything away.Spine doctors are not invited to respond to my postings because the FNM is the Govt and can make any decision they wish at this time.So wise readers and contributors to this site watch for the spin doctors, new Senate appointment, new gun Court that wont be able to function properly for at least one year unless a new Mag is appointed, pundits who wish to put the PLP and FNM in the same basket etc etc.Tell the spin doctors on Mackey St that you failed as your attacks are too transparent STORM.

  8. @Russell Johnson,
Learning what? How to be an unapologetic mouth piece for the PLP? That is not an ambitious preposition from by perspective, Russell. Say (like I did) “I am a politically unbias Bahamian wqho assigns credit to whomever is worthy, be they PLP or FNM administration, and who is equally unafraid to assign blame to whomever is deserving).” Russell, this is what is needed. STOP BEING AN “ECHO” FOR GAMBIER HOUSE (PLP). INSTEAD, BE A VOICE OF REASONED AND CALCULATED EXPRESSIONS, DESIGNED TO ENLIGHTEN THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY DRUNK ON THE JUICE OF BOTH THE PLP AND FNM MACHINERY. Can you bring yourself around and into doing this?

  9. Fortunately for my reputation I have been on this site from 2007 or STORM would have a point.Everyone who is jaundiced with thoughts are guessing as to who I am.All eyes are on the Parliamentary Reg Dept where I shall go on Thursday.Dont bother looking for me as its easier to find Bin Ladin.Dont threaten me as I can get pissed in a second. As far as having handlers at Gambier House am just laughing uncontrollably but its a good point as since you STORM feel that am doing a wonderful ob on their behalf I will send a bill lolo lol.My thoughts are from my heart therefore am no hack. The Minister of Labour is obviously trying to intimidate Evans who better not blink as I have Storm doing by answering in this tread lolo.Storm you are learning as your thought process is changing due to my mentoring.

  10. @Russell Johnson
You are a political hack whose handlers occupy a building called Gambier House on Farrington Road. That pretty-much sums your views up (Gambeir House). I am a “politically cross pollenated BAHAMIAN” who both complimen ts and condemns bnoth parites according as they desire to be under the varied circumstances (Russell Johnson I challenge you to say this about yourself). I move on to serious business now.
Dion Foulkes realizes that his party has lost BASE SUPPORT during this BTC fiasco. Rule number one in politics is always secure base support. The unions have cleverly caused the discussion to evolve into one about BAHAMIANS EMPOWERMENT, so the successful sale of BTC BY THE FNM WILL BE USED BY UNIONS AND THE PLP AS “CASE IN POINT” THAT THE FNM IS AGAINST BAHAMIANS EMPOWERMENT. From here on in the FNM only stands to lose this debate (BTC sale). The more they justify the reasons for the sale of BTC, the more ammunition they create to say they are against “Bahamians empowerment”. They are in quick sand. The more they struggle the quicker they are sinking. The FNM government needs the cash windfall from the sale of BTC to “grease the wheels” (i.e. small contracts on family islands, build docks and pave roads in family islands, provide temporary jobs, expand unemployment benefits leading into the elections, civil service increments and pay raise). THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF THE FNM WINNING IN 2012 UNLESS SUCH THINGS ARE DONE. THEY ARE JUST TO FAR BEHIND IN THE POLLS TO DO SO WITHOUT THE AIDE OF THE PUBLIC TREASURY. Dion Foulkes is reaching out to the thousands of disillusioned FNMs who find themselves in the awkward position of agreeing with the PLP against their party on the BTC matter. Dion is attempting to reach swing voters who supported the FNM in 2007 but now have an acute case of “buyers remorse”. The political weather is changing. The Russell Johnsons’ of this world come out now. Expect the FNM to use its “contacts” in media in their campaign to “persuade and distort”. The season of lies, lies and more lies is upon us, so dress appropriately.

  11. Y’all talk too much! Stop sitting on your asses and get something done…SMH! Instead of complaining all day try to figure out a way to get your lives in order is it too hard for you unhappy people?

  12. Haitian arse Foulkes & his Haitian ass governor general daddy arses need to be tarred, feathered, lit and shipped to their homeland Haiti and sold as coal for treason the Foulkes family commit in the Bahamas!!!

  13. Prime Minister of the Bahamas-foreigner

    Head of Urca -foreigner

    knucklehead Storm-foreigner

    newsman that jerk-foreigner

    Director of Public Prosecution-foreigner.

Everyone is a foreigner so am going to a country in the south and get citizenship then return as a foreigner and get some of this sweetness. And you jerks who come on this site heralding the return of PAPA are also foreigners to the truth. He is simply not the best.

    • The Director of Works – Foriegner

The Surveyor General of the Bahamas – Foreigner

The president of the College of the Bahamas – Foreigner

And the New Owner of BTC – Foreigners

Who will stop this Bastardization of the Bahamian people?

Hubert Ingraham and the FNM have taken up back to POST 1967!
      WE NEED CHANGE!

  14. When Bahamian make i change dis thime they must in no uncertain term tell the incoming new prime Minister change must began at senior level in these Government office. In the Ministry of Tourisum they are the lobbysist for Foreigners.the director off Tourisum have to go he have to go like yesturday.

  15. Usta work at that hotel when they first came to Nassau, this was their plan all along. They hate to pay Bahamians at our wage level, would prefer to pay Jamaicans little or nothing. Wick people at th department of Immigration. No way they should entertain work permit in the hotel industry. Bahamians are qualified at every level of the hotel industry. Human Resource Managers are just as bad, because when they get in valid applications, no work permit should be applied for. GOOD LOOKING OUT BP, on busting Dion Foulkes’ scam.

  16. The Bahamas has a brain drain problem. All of the most qualified Bahamians run fast away from this country because you have to lower yourself and be willing to lick boots and even worse just to get ahead. In the U.S. and U.K. you can generally just put your best foot forward and join the middle class with relative ease. When Bahamians get serious about making sure the educated return to the country and have equal opportunities regardless of race, religion or party affiliation then maybe the things that you are complaining about can change. Sorry but I don’t see that happening anytime in the near future so the brain drain continues and the crying on this side will not stop.

  17. BP, so you’ll think that that $42,000.000 dollars the immigration department is be talking about this come from selling business licenses hey, thats for them same work permits that Papa cabinet this be approving for all of those Foreigner, see why we got to stop this Bahamas and throw this Foreign National Movement (FNM) govt off of it.

    • Love how you renamed the FNM. It’s deeper and more serious than that though. We have to stay serious because this matter is very serious.

  18. Bp yall really need a newspaper… Try hard make that move… Yall than bigger than da punch.. Make that big leap please… This is the Change we need… keep it up

    • Governor Bahamas Press has an average of 300,000 daily readers. We disperse emails to more than 15,000 users. Social network sites on peek days can have up to 16,000 readers a day. You really think we need to start a newspaper now so we could only sell 5,000 copies?

We have more readers than the Guardian/Tribune/Punch/Journal and Freeport News combined. What we need now in to add Radio and TV to the site. THAT IS COMING! THAT IS THE LEAP FOR US!

      STAY TUNED !

      BP

  19. Good Lord man if this story is correct, it sounds like the old days of foreigners holding every single one of the higher paid jobs in Freeport. Remember when all the black Bahamians had to immediately exit Freeport and head to West End, upon finishing their work shift.

  20. can some one tell me why the salary for civil servants are so horrid for persons who are educated, yet we want to project a progresive society,a salary with a degree should be at least $40’000 watch our dumb politicians who get more.
