Ivoine Ingraham

Nassau, BahamasBahamas Press is reporting major convolutions happening now in the FNM. A morning daily carried a report which read, “FNM Councilman Claims He was paid for Silence”.

Sources in the high command of the FNM tell us, that councilman is indeed former FNM candidate for the post of Chairman, Ivoine Ingraham.

Ivoine you would remember along with Johnlee was hushed into silence at the FNM 2009 National Convention when both campaigned for the Chairmanship at the conclave. Former Minister of Education, Carl Bethel, was fired from the Cabinet and appointed Chairman of the Party.

You would also remember Bethel’s nomination was moved on the floor of the Convention by Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham.

Ivoine we are told by the report vows the incident will “not go into the night” as he threatened to expose the corrupt practices of the FNM inside ‘dutty’ politics.

Johnley Ferguson, the former Chairman of the FNM and Carl Bethell, the current Chairman of the FNM are seen again in more happier times at the Party's fair at Arawak Cay, Nassau. Photo by Rodney Moncur.

Sources in the Party’s “Apparatchik” tell us, Ivoine had cut a deal with current Deputy Prime Minister, Brent Symonette at that Convention, who according to the informant, has disappeared and has failed to live up to his side of the deal concocted in the elevator of the Whyndham Hotel.

Ivoine we are told expected to also receive some appointment as did Johnlee, but he is being ignored.

An individual in the position to know tell us, Ivoine wrote a letter to current Chairman, Carl Bethel, on the matter. The two are said to be upset with the Organization, particular as news break on the Party’s attempt to remove Bethel as Chairman this coming November.

Word of this latest bust up came to head just hours following the announcement by the Cabinet on the appointment of Duane Sands to the Senate.

This kind of “deal making” is considered part of the normal procedure of politics in this country. It happens in all parties and only the most naive are of the view that “their party” is exempted. I am applauding Ivoine Ingraham for disclosing the facts, even if he hopes to shame the FNM into making good on their part of the deal as his only motive. Certainly, the fact that many people who did not know about “the deal” would now be made aware, to the extent that he disclosed the details, does not come as a “complete surprise” to Ivoine. WE NEED WHISTLE BLOWERS TO COME FORWARD FROM BOTH MAJOR PARTIES.

  2. Jericho walls are beginning to fall… watch and see this here small watch I tell the very foundation will some be no more…. government in Sunshine and it’s a matter of trust …lol

  3. Its really sad, and speaks true to why the Bahamian society is not getting any better. Its sick to see how you so called “die hard” PLP’s and FNM’s, sit idly by knowing quite well that your parties have both carried out injustices to the Bahamian people. You people are greedy and only concerned with the lining of your pockets. I thank GOD almighty that i am a fair person, not at all perfect, but thank GOD i can identify right from wrong, and can speak out against wrong with a clear conscience.

  4. Double I is a 21st century informant for a better Bahamas. Getting paid to know what is going on is the best place to be. He is actually the center pin to knock out the rest in bowling game. SCORE. Good for you as no one in there besides you have real balls. Who can speak up and say what happen none. Any undercover lover for info salute you for being a real man. Well Papa The Brand New Bag Got The Judgment Of Not being compassionate or showing compassion and that means second class citizenship in the Bahamas for Bahamians would not be working very well, so with all the people who done get their new identity and Bahamians being counted out the Hitler occult trend is going down the drain.

  5. If this is all true, The FNM Chairman has gone into hiding from The Tribune, the one and only media left standing that still favors his party. So this got to mean they are worried over on Mackey Street. It forces us Bahamians to think aloud as to what this is all about? The Chairman’s s own silence is not the way the PM has always been pretty darn smart, knowing how to stay ahead of the story, and not making him, or the party, the story. For a party that preaches transparency, they should know you couldn’t duck, at minimum, an embarrassing, if not a questionable payment. Once we know the amount they may have paid out, the fat lady will sing loudly, as why this silence was worth the bucks.

  6. i wonder why he did,nt have the nuts to STAND AND SPEAK at the convention?! why now?! whats going on within the FNM? is it that the people is tired of hubert?! finally! you should have taken the strings off your back along time ago Mr Ivoine.

  7. This shows that political prostitution lives on: the men continue to sell their balls and integrity for filthy lucre and the women continue to sell themselves for thirty pieces of silver. There’s nothing new under this sunshine government.

  8. f the FNM used the party’s funds to pay someone for their silence, would that not be a misuse of party funds, maybe even against the law? Once money hits the bank account of the party, whether it is by donations or loans, it should never be used to silence someone. If this story turns out to be true, then the party must come clean with the information regarding any other funds misused by the party. Why no comment so far from the party? The amount paid for silence will tell us how bad they wanted whatever silenced.

Surely you can’t be serious about your protest of Mr. Ingraham’s revelations. It seems (perception is just as real as reality) that as along as he went along merrily, then everything was okay, regardless of all of the dark dealings (now being discussed publicly by Mr. Ivoine Ingraham). You sound like “political partials” who hate everything that negatively reflects on their party. And the party’s good supersedes all, right (like a good communist). There was someone else on the other side of the dirty deal called the DEAL MAKER. What say you about them, or are you having an epiphany right now. If so go through that experience (get serious).

    • @ Storm, I am a serious swing voter who has voted for both major parties, and I find NONE that truly has The Bahamian People at heart, we Middle-Class folks are begging this days for a living, how are we suppose to help our People who are less fortunate than us,when yinna Leaders are keeping us like beggars ourselves in this Country?

  10. rick prat i do not like the GENTLE way that you used terms for honorable mr. ivonne ingraham. i would put it a little more blunty…. HE IS A POLITICAL WHORE!

  11. These are the men who would lead us? I am not surprised, nor do i believe the PLP are any different. This type of behavior has been rampant in our system forever… perhaps that is why Mr. Ingraham shows no understanding of how poorly this reflects on him personally… shame!

    • RICK PRATT, YOU CAN’T BE A BAHAMIAN…. YOU HAVE NO RESPECT. EVEN IF YOU DON’T RESPECT PM INGRAHAM REPECT THE OFFICE. PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE WORLD HAVE ACCESS TO THIS SITE AND CAN SEE WHAT YOU CALLED YOUR LEADER. SAD, I MUST SAY. THEN WE WONDER WAY OUR COUNTY IS THE WAY IT IS, YOU ARE A POOR EXAMPLE TO OUR CHILDREN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAME AND AS THE GROUND TO OPEN UP AND SWALLOW YOU YOU MUST BE SICK MENTALLY!!

      • @Paul, obvious you are an illiterate fool, your name begins or end with those of a wayward French, I meant Ivoine Ingraham, and not your Maximum Leader..

  12. Ivoine get swing no big thing he get swing. An implosion is taking place before our eyes and some still say he is simply the best.I wonder if Ivoine will make an appearance at the PLP rally in Lizzy tonight?Something big is going down so all roads should lead to Lizzy tonight.Brown gone now Ivoine, things are really getting hot, hot.

  13. as much as boodie say on national redio how much papa swing him with promise these jackass still fall for it. boy papa kunfu good he is recrute some of the most no balls, dum ass, ministers ever. like the say if ya find a ass ride it..lol

  14. @Altec

Man you make my laugh when you said; “But once the carrot of a job was dangled before him, he saw it as an opportunity to make easy money and accepted the offer, selling himself in the process.”

All I’m now thinking is the PM must be buying them “job dangling carrots” on them dollar days by the bunches, cause the Lord knows he been doing lots of job dangling since he got back in office. I bet when he call to see you in his office, you guaranteed to either get your fresh carrot, or a swift kick in the backside. They say he practice so much he could join the NFL as a star kicker. Remember, I ain’t saying nothing about the PM that you and me don’t hear be talking on the streets.

  15. Ivone had a desire to be chairman and sold that dream for a lowly government position. Now that he feels he wont get anything, he is crying foul?

Does he not know that he is not only bad mouthing the FNM, but he is revealing to the public what lack of integrity he himself has because he went along with the deal? Does he not know that he is telling the world that Ivone Ingraham dreams are for sale?

If Ivone was a man’s man, he wouldnt have gone along with the deal in the first place. he should have kept his integrity and ran for chairman irregardless.

Or, once he was made aware of his party’s intentions, he should have suspended his desire for the good of the party, reject any promises so as to maintain clean hands and offer himself at another time.

But once the carrot of a job was dangled before him, he saw it as an opportunity to make easy money and accepted the offer, selling himself in the process.

Now, with an election on the horizon and the FNM chances to retain the government are fading, he sees his chance to make some easy money fading as well.

This is his last chance to get a cookie out the cookie jar!

As of right now, he has the right to complain, but he has no moral ground to stand on. The only person’s character taking a hit is Ivone’s because we expect this kind of behavior from politicians and Ivone portrays himself as a man of integrity. Well, now we know he was fronting straight through.

The old Altec proverb is true, once you have nanny on your shoes, you cant tell nobody they stink!

  16. Seems to be something underhand going on now that a daily newspaper and BP is reporting this story, except only BP has named the disgruntled FNM member. Business as usual over at the FNM. This party was started with both the UBP old families money and their contempt for anything not loyal to them, til the casket come for you.

  17. NO ONE IS SAFE IN THE FNM. THIS IS WHY THEY NEED TO BE STR8 UP WITH WE BAHAMIANS.JOIN WELLS,ALLEN,McCATHNEY,AND THE REST OF THEM YALL DON’T HAVE NO BALLS THATS GOOD FOR YALL A$$.LOL

  18. “A promise is comfort to a fool” is most appropiate in these circumstances. My gut feelings tell me that Ivoine has also lost his contract to teach at BTVI.He is known as a supporter of Allen so PAPA might just be cleaning slate as he continues to fumble the ball leading up to the Gen Elects.I remember Algernon Allen saying just prior to the Gen Elects of 2007 that the FNM was now HIP(Hubert Ingraham party). This prophecy is proving correct as all of the Cecilites are being rooted out and replaced by HIPilites.
