We read with interest the nasty lies the Tribune has been spreading concerning the recent demonstration downtown by the Union against the sale of BTC. In their usual filthy, nasty, and lying way and to appease Papa, they continue to stretch the truth to create a red herring. Pray tell us, what is wrong with PLP supporters going to Rawson Square, are they not Bahamians, does not BTC belong to them as well?
PLP supporters as well as BP had an inherent right to be on Bay Street and we were there. We and thousands of Bahamians are against the sale of BTC TO ” Careless and Wutless”. Plain and simple as that. The Tribune better known as “terlet paper” continues to make the argument about the number of people who went to Bay Street, well Egypt has eighty million people and less than one million went to Tahrir Square and the Government there crumbled. So in our view if three thousand go to Bay street, it is more representative of the feelings of the masses.
We would not dignify the lies about people being paid to go to Bay Street, except to say this, we are reliably informed that this information may have come from Dion “Poker Player” Foulkes and Charles “Pillsbury Doughboy” Maynard. A source in the FNM told BP, “Charlie and Dion told the FNM Council last night that they saw some of the same people that they “rented” in the past at the demonstration.” Well Muddoes, you mean the Pillsbury and the Poker Player have been doing this and now trying to tell lies on the PLP?. WE ASK THE TWO MINISTERS TO DENY THIS SO THAT WE MAY EXPOSE THEM FOR THE HYPOCRITES THEY ARE.
We say to the nasty “Rag Sheet” known as the Tribune, why are you not reporting on the blatant conflict of Interest that is going on at URCA? The Chairman is alleged to have the firm of which he was a Partner now performing the Audit for URCA. The CEO by his own admission has hired a former colleague from Careless and Wutless as the HR Consultant to URCA, while Bahamians are being fired. Wow, only in this Country. MUMS the Word as Papa likes to say.
@rick
Why can’t you admit to THE FACT that The Tribune is bias and reports with an anti-PLP agenda daily? It is impossible to take your views on anything else serious WHEN THE OBVIOUS is disregarded or attempts are made to “spin” the plain, commonly acknowledged truth. Do you see the same anti-PLP bias in THE PUNCH? It’s one thing to be provided information from which you make decisions. Its another thing to be provided information in a way that makes (by inclusions and exclusions) the decisions for you.
Well said, Storm!
My only addition to your well stated point is that I do not expect a national newspaper to function as a propaganda arm of any political party. However, when we examine the unfair business advantages offered the Mrs Eileen Carron’s Tribune Group of companies since the first FNM administration in 1992, then the motivation for their obvious bias becomes clear. A appropriate title for the future book detailing this sordid aspect of our national life may be: THE BIG PAYBACK!
Dear BP,
As an FNM supporter, and someone who is Opposed to the sale of BTC to any foreign entity, I agree with you on the Egypt analogy, because i was not there at the protest, but i am 100% behind the Unions and any Bahamian that does not support this sale.
http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-561111
Rick Pratt you are wrong I know people who where
paid to protest but some did not get paid yet and they are mad the plp is a disgrace to the bahamian people.Mr Christie must never be the pm again.YOU ARE FULL OF HATE MAY YOU SEE THE LIGHT FROM THE SUNSHINE.
@Rick Pratt…..I concur with your suggestions to boycott the Tribune and ANY other tabloid that supports the sale of BTC or only published the Government views and not those of the oppositions….Bahamians as of tomorrow STOP PURCHASING THE THESE TABLOIDS< ESPECIALLY THE TRIBUNE!
I have been a loyal reader of the Tribune since a lil child, and I know da times,so I am willing to boycott it for 30days,to support the Save BTC for Bahamians, and I encourage all those that believe in The Bahamas is for Bahamians first to support this Honorable cause.
boy naw i convince this a P.L.P doing B.P!
@Freeport: Would you believe that at none of the meetings of the Committee To Save BTC for Bahamians did we bother to ask each other about our political affiliations.
Additionally, are you suggesting that a demonstration largely supported by PLP’s is less legitimate than a demonstration largely supported by FNM’s, who are simply afraid to spek up? What exactly are you sayin’, Freeport?
I could only count 5 gold shirts from this view..where is rest of the PLPs were been reading about in the Tribune!
You people look so out of order…SMH
BP, its easy for me to recall the times I had to post a response in defense of the Tribune, here.
But has become a painful reality for me to admit that the Tribune is a far cry from the reputable newspaper, that was a part of my day.
I thought nothing of seperating myself from The Tribune. As an occasional reader of The Punch, I can only handle one tabloid at a time.
I think that the TRIBUNE should be PROUD every time BP call them wutless…..
Consider the source and lol…
ALL THE PM AND HIS MINI ME’S ARE DOING IS TRYING TO BE FUNNY BY DENYING THE TRUE NUMBER OF PEOPLE….THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO BE FUNNY….THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER. I DON’T CARE IF THE LEADER RIGHT NOW WAS PLP, FNM, ETC, THE MATTER AT HAND NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED…IT IS APPARENT THAT THE PM DOES NOT CARE TO EVEN COMMENT OR REVIEW THE DEAL, NO MATTER HIS DECISION. IT ONLY PROVES THAT HE BELIEVES HE IS GOD AND FROM WHAT I KNOW THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE MASTER! BEWARE, DON’T PLAY WITH JEHOVAH…HIS PATIENCE TOO WEARS OUT!
What I find appalling is,they the Tribune deplore the demonstrations taking place in Rawson Square; but the Tribune’s report, regrets, or fail to express a similar concern for the conditions that brought about the demonstrations. I am sure none of the WUTTLESS media houses would rest content with the superficial kind of social analysis that deals merely with the effects and does not grapple with the underlying causes. It’s unfortunate that these demonstrations are taking place in the capital city of the Bahamas; but it’s even more unfortunate that the governing power, the FNM with it’s foreign and local financial backing, left the Bahamian “WORKING CLASS” with no other alternative!!!! That’s just pathetic.
The Tribune is the Bahamas’ version of Fox News- very biased and right-winged. Any media outlet who never acknowledges anything good any other political force does other than one particular party is biased and not objective at all
@D.A.H. I view the tribune to see what they have to say on a daily basis not because I’m in a quest for truth, but to discover what new twist they’ll put on fact.
It is called having an open mind. Imagine what our thinking would be if we only read BP’s side of the story.
All I HAVE TO SAY IS BOYCOUTT!! STOP BUYING THIS GARBAGE, WE NEED TO SEND A MESSAGE. STOP BUYING THIS CRAP!!! THEIR JOB IS TO SPREAD PROPAGANDA AND TO DIVIDE AND CONCUR THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE!!!!STOP LETTING THEM DO THIS TO US, BAHAMIANS (PLP, FNM, NDP, BDM, RICH, POOR, BLACK, WHITE, MIX-UP) UNITE, UNITE IN THE CAUSE THAT IS FOR ALL OUR RIGHTS!!!
The tribune has more viewers than this website….cant be that bad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRYEqrkIw6I
so, you are saying that 1% of a people represent the mind of the masses? 3000 out of 360,000? Are you serious?
This lame duck administration won it’s mandate by less than 3000 votes; yes less than 1%: we’re dam serious.
LOL:Well tell PAPA call a REFERENDUM.
If you are not wanting a REFERENDUM then do a scientific poll ask COB for assistance isn’t that but one of the things that they are there for.
There are many ways to get arrange the thoughts of the populace.
Don’t be fooled or a fool think for yourself but do it before your heritage is gone and remember that the Bahamian people owns BTC and that is exactly where it ought to remain until we say to sell it to someone else!!!!
Hey LOL, would a 10% showing of the Bahamian population impress you and your dumb leader, Hubert A….Ingraham?
Then just stay tuned!
NB: You must also be prepared for the leadership change which your FNM-monied-support-base will demand when they count the cost and consequences of the interruption of their commercial interests. For an elitist group of people whose motive is profit above principles, buying new FNM leadership will be their first move. CHECKMATE!
