Police has murder #212 since 2009 under investigation

Sometime around 11:35 am on Saturday 12th March, 2011 police received information that a body was found at Western Road.  Police responded and discovered the body of a male through a track road off Western Road wearing a black t-shirt with gray sweat pants, with both legs and arms tied and gunshot injuries to the body.   At present police are uncertain of the circumstances surrounding this incident.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 3:00 am on Friday 11th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Cottonwood Street, Pinewood Gardens.  Police responded and information received that a female was at home when she was awoken by two masked males, armed with handguns demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the female of an undetermined amount of cash and a cell phone and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 12:44 pm on Friday 11th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Skyline Drive.  Police responded and information received that a female on arrival to her residence was approached by two light skinned males both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns.  It is reported that the culprits robbed the female of her blue Ford Escape L/P number unknown and attempted to flee the area; however, as the culprits left they collided into a nearby gate.  The culprits abandoned the jeep and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION ARREST

Sometime around 1:36 pm on Friday 11th March, 2011 police acting on information proceeded to Paradise Island where they conducted a search of three (3) males and recovered from two of the men, two (2) handguns with ammunition. The men ages, 45, 41 and 33 years were taken into custody.  Police investigations continue

FATALITY

Sometime around 2:00 pm on Friday 11th March, 2011 a traffic accident occurred at the junction of South and West Streets involving a gray 2000 Honda Accord driven by a 35 year old male and a  white 1999 Hyundai Truck occupied by two people, the driver and a passenger.  The occupants of the truck were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition.  The driver of the Honda Accord received serious injuries and succumbed at the scene.  Police investigations continue.

STABBING

Sometime around 5:35 pm on Friday 11th March, 2011 police received information that a male was stabbed at Windsor Road and Market Street. Police responded and information received that the victim, a 16 year old male, was at the Real Deal located on Wulff Road when he got into an altercation with another male which resulted in him being stabbed to the back and side.  The male was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is detained in stable condition.  Police are questioning an 18 year old male in connection with this incident.  Police investigations continue.

STABBING

Sometime around 10:43 pm on Friday 11th March, 2011 police received information of a stabbing at Beatrice Avenue, Monastery Park.  Police responded and information received that a 16 year old male was attending a party at Monastery Park, when he was stabbed to the chest and arm by another male.  The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in stable condition.  Police are investigating.

STABBING

Sometime around 1:15 am on Saturday 12th March, 2011 police received information that a male was stabbed Ply’s Bar, Ross Corner.  Police responded and information received that an altercation occurred at the bar between a group of people which resulted in two males ages 20 and 22 years being stabbed.  The victims were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition. Police are investigating.

FIREARM AND AMMUNIITON ARREST

Sometime around 1:25 am on Saturday 12th March, 2011 officers of the Central Detective Unit acting on information proceeded to Baillou Hill Road and Wellington Street where they observed a male acting suspiciously. Officers conducted a search of the male and recovered a handgun with ammunition.  The   29 year old male of West Street was taken into custody.  Police investigations continue.

STABBING

Sometime around 9:45 am on Thursday 10th March, 2011 police received information of a stabbing at Rosebud Street off Farrington Road. Police responded and information received that a male and female was at Rosebud Street when they got into an altercation which resulted in the male being stabbed multiple times to the body with a screwdriver.  The 46 year old male was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is detained in serious condition.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 1:30 pm on Thursday 10th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Checkers Café, Carmichael Road.  Police responded and information received that a male, wearing a red shirt and a green pants, entered the establishment allegedly armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The culprit robbed the establishment of the cash register containing an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a burgundy Camry, L/P 226713.

A short while later, police were on routine patrol in the Church Hill Subdivision when they observed the vehicle being driven by a male.  The driver, a 37 year old male of Church Hill Subdivision was taken into custody.  Police investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Shortly before 2:00 pm on Thursday 10th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Seven to Seven Trading, Meeting Street.  Police responded and information received that a male wearing a red hat, an orange stripe shirt  and blue jeans pants, entered the establishment  allegedly armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The culprit robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area on foot south on West Street.  Police are investigating.

Traffic Accident at Carmichael and Iguana Way

Shortly after 1:30 am on Sunday morning, two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided at the junction of Carmichael and Iguana Way. The driver of one of the vehicles required medical attention and was taken by ambulance to the Princess Margaret Hospital. The Carmichael Police Division responded to the accident rather quickly, considering that the night was quite busy.

Sgt.1654 Bonimy and his team were thorough and professional in their attention to those involved and the investigations on site.
