Ingraham has changed Immigration Policy regarding Illegal Haitians

Your comments have so encouraged me, that I am sharing my thoughts in an Editorial letter written today:

Dear Editor:

Please permit me to focus national attention on the government’s violation of our laws regarding Illegal Immigration, which is causing a marked decrease in Public Safety, increasing Crime Statistics, hardship in the delivery of Social Services benefits to Bahamian citizens, and avoidable deaths due to deficiencies in critical care in the Public Hospitals and Community Clinics.

Apparently, Prime Minister Ingraham has unilaterally changed The Bahamas’ Immigration Policy regarding illegal Haitian immigrants. Following the earthquake in Haiti last year January, Ingraham ordered the release of all 110 detainees at the Detention Center, with the proviso that they report to the Immigration Dept. at Hawkins Hill weekly. What an insult!

This “woefully bad decision” has grossly undermined our national security efforts, lowered the Department of Immigration’s standard operating procedures, resulted in the resignation of the functioning Immigration Minister and raises the following critical ‘R’ questions:

1. Have the released illegal Haitian former detainees been REPORTING?

2. Have the former detainees been REPATRIATED?

3. Have these released illegals since been REGULARIZED?

Papa

As citizens of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, we must demand that
Prime Minister Ingraham be made to answer for his callous disregard for The Bahamas Constitution and the sacred rights of the Bahamian people to develop The Bahamas along the lines of their Christian values heritage; by removing him from office in 2012 followed by a Commission of Enquiry to exact retribution for his crimes.

Sincerely,

Phillippa “Lady” Russell
Bahamian Citizen

  1. Persons born to illegal parents do NOT have a right to citizenship. They have a right to apply and any right thinking person must know that for national security and cultural reasons, we simply cannot give them our passport. They are Haitian to the bone and their only aim is to suck all they can from this place while giving nothing back. Bahamians cannot allow these invaders to now pollute our electoral system. Enough is enough. It’s no wonder Ingraham is dissing Bahamians – he plans to give Haitians status so they could vote! Well, like locusts, everywhere they go, they ruin the place. This time, we’re gonna have to fight to keep the Bahamas for Bahamians!

    • @lol

We may already be too late! I have been reliably informed by sources in the Dept. of Immigration that since 2007 thousands of Haitian nationals have been given citizenship with the new machine readable passports as gifts for their promise of voting in favour of this FNM government!

Short of declaring FOUL! What can Bahamians do to halt the wholsale Ethnocide of their unique culture to a people whose loyalty to their own barbaric practices is sure to replicate and transform our once peaceful Isles of June into the nightmare from which they have escaped – HAITI!!!!

When I return, I will share more on the concept of ETHNOCIDE. Perhaps we may approach the United Nations to lodge a formal complaint against this Ingraham administration for what is clearly an attemp to destroy any remnant of Bahamian culture.

      Stay tuned.

  2. Massive round-ups, are needed, to eradicate the illegal Haitian menace, in our diminishing Bahamian society.

We simply are overwhelmed with Haiti’s FAILED STATE CITIZENRY OF NON-BELONGERS, ON OUR LAND.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUG!!!

SEND EVERY DAMED ONE BACK WHERE THEY BELONG.

THEY ALREADY DESTROYED THEIR COUNTRY AND HAVE NO LOVE FOR OURS!!!!

LOOK HOW FILTHY THEY HAVE OUR TOWN, JUST LIKE HAITI!!!

  3. Ya know Phillipa, i am still trying to grasp their decision to release those captured immigrants.

Folks break the law, you capture them and then release them on humanitarian grounds with a stern warning to come back so we can lock you up and ship you out? Lol!

I wonder if this decision was made in concert with the cabinet or if Mr Ingraham just gave Brent the command to let them go?

    • @Altec

I seem to recall an incident following the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti involving Ms Candia Dames, the Guardian Reporter who asked Ingraham, Symonette and Bran McCartney the same question regarding the policy implications of releasing the illegal Haitian detainees, which almost got her fired.

Shortly after the three Cabinet Ministers mentioned above, gave three conflicting responses to the Guarian regarding the release of the detainees question, Mr Branville McCartney resigned from the Ingraham Cabinet.

Considering the conflicting loyalties one Brent Symonette experiences between needing new customers for his extensive commercial/retail investments and his high profile appointment as Deputy Prime Minister with responsibility for Immigration and the Passport Office, perhaps it is simpler to issue passports rather than to deport illegals!

  4. @BP

I been up since midnite waitin for the hot off the press corruption in Long Island saga.

cuz BP NEVER BLUFF, OR FEAR!!!

WE ARE ENCOURAGED BY THE TRUTH>>> TO FURTHER ENLIGHTEN THE BAHAMIAN MASSES.

SO OUR BAHAMIAN DREAM COULD BE RESTORED FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL…

Thanks BP for being OLIVER CROMWELL IN THE BAHAMIAN MEDIA WORLD, BRINGING SENSE TO THE CONTRIVED (PLOTS) HATCHED BY CORRUPT POLITICIANS, AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS , THAT THEY PLACED ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE BAHAMIAN MASSES.

    • The story will come. As you can see, BP is a resource for news to the WUTLESS media. That cannot gather **** when it dry so imagine news. Stand by, we will bring the details.

  5. ing-rum hoping for these same haitians to vote for him we was told not to turn back in 2007 and we did just that. now we licking one another wounds.

  6. I would like to no if the fight that broke out at social service on horse shoe drive , was it one or more of the haitians from Mackey yard fire or the second fire that cause the fight.

    • @ pamela johnson

I have been reliably informed that employees at the Dept. of Socia Services with strong ties to the Haitian community, make personal deliveries of Food Coupons, School Uniform Vouchers, Medicines and Cash Money to Illegal Immigrants in Shanty-towns areas near South Beach, Yamacraw, Cowpen and Bacardi Roads; thus creating national shortages.

While it is doubtful that illegals were directly on the line where the fight broke out, their drain on the nationsl resources prevented the smooth deliverey of assistance to Bahamian citizens whose genuine needs and rights are being disregarded in preference to the dishonest claims of others who need to be deported!

      • If you think Social Services was a FLOP here in Nassau, wait until later in the morning yinner see what we discovered in Long Island. BP is breaking news once again all over the Bahamas!

        BP

        PS: Standby

      • With All due Respect Lady Russell we cannot say that all of the Haitians from the varies fires are illegal. I do say that if they are illegal the should go back home.If they were born here in the Bahamas our laws said the should be regularize. Our Governments are just busy playing politics every year with those people. And thats my five Cents.

        • Also from as far as i do know is that most of those illegal immegrants that were release from the detention center do report to the Hawkins Hill Office every week. Also from what i have heard is the Government are in the Process of Regularizing some of them just before elections so they could try to win.

          • Tony Haitians Immigrants who can’t show proof that they were here legally since 1985 can’t even get permanent residence so that won’t be an issue. You just have to be concern about those ones who fabricate that they are Bahamian by procuring birth certificates and claiming “I Bon here.” lol but its sad, These M..F.. will always find away to exploit the system especially when the politicians are on their side.
