With a ceremony steeped in tradition The Right Rev. Laish Zane Boyd, Sr was enthroned as the 16th Bishop of the Bahamas.
On Sunday Bishop Boyd, before a cloud of witnesses, was vested with all the instruments of a Bishop, as he was seated in his seat at the historic Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nassau.
The election process and transfer of power to Bishop Boyd proved that the Anglican Church’s former Bishop Drexel Gomez, is a man in possession of GREAT SPIRITUAL WISDOM AND INSIGHT.
Gomez did not rush the church into frenzy to elect a new leader as he announced his intension to demit office two years before the transfer began. Archbishop Gomez saw that the new Bishop got his feet wet into the office before he stepped down. He allowed the new Bishop to see what the challenges were before taking up the post, long before he demitted office. Bishop Gomez took him around the country, and in the end he passed his wisdom and experience over to the new leader with the Church and the entire Bahamian community looking on.
If only Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie can take a page from Archbishop Gomez book, the nation would be much better off. BUT those two (Christie & Ingraham) would rather see the Bahamas end in civil war before they groom new FRESH LEADERSHIP! Christie cannot makeup his mind and elect a senator much less a party leader successor. We will have more words on this when we present an article on “The Legacy of Christie GETS WORSE BY THE DAY!’
TO BISHOP GOMEZ, YOU HAVE LEFT THE CHURCH STRONGER AND A NEW GENERATION OF BAHAMIAMS WISER!!! TO BISHOP BOYD, YOU HAVE OUR UNFLINCHING PRAYERS AND SUPPORT!!!

Anglicans lined George Street Sunday to Enthrone the 16th Anglican Bishop of the Bahamas.
It was an honour as an Anglican to be apart of History as our Bishop was Enthroned on the liturgical day of the presentation of our Lord. I congratuate and stand with Bishop Boyd as he will need the support of Anglicans to answer the call to serve in God’s vineyard. God Bless and keep Our New Bishop
