SUSPECT IN POLICE CUSTODY
Police have taken into custody a 19 year old male of Gambier Village reference to a recent murder. The male was arrested at the Western Police Station, West Bay Street sometime around 3:20 pm on Thursday 09th June, 2011 after he was handed over to police by a family member and a local church pastor.
POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT
Police are investigating a stabbing incident that has left three (3) male students in hospital. Shortly before 1:00pm on Thursday 9th June, 2011 police received information of a stabbing at Doris Johnson Senior High School, Prince Charles Drive. Information received that a group of students was at school when they got into an altercation which resulted in three males being stabbed. One of the males was stabbed to the chest, the other to the head and the third male to head and face area. The students were taken to hospital via EMS personnel where at present their conditions are unknown. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATES DOUBLE SHOOTING
Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left two males in hospital in serious condition. Preliminary police reports indicate that sometime around 8:30 pm on Thursday 8th June, 2011 police received information of gunshots being heard in the area of East Street South and Sapodilla Boulevard. Police responded and arrival discovered two males with apparent gunshot injury. It is reported that the victims were at East Street South when they were approached by a silver Nissan Altima occupied by two males, both of whom were armed with handguns and demanded cash. It is further reported that the culprits fired gunshots at the men which resulted in one of the men, age 43 years being shot to the chest and the other to the stomach. The men were taken to hospital via EMS personnel where they are detained in serious condition.

POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING
A man is dead after he attempted to knock down police officers last evening. The incident reportedly occurred sometime around 11:30 pm on Thursday 09th June, 2011.
Preliminary police reports indicate that officers were on routine patrol in the area Claridge Road off Wulff Road when they observed a stolen champagne Nissan Sentra occupied, a by a male and female. It is reported that the officers attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the driver sped off. Officers pursued the vehicle which took them through several streets in New Providence and ended up on a private road in the area of B.E. C. Baillou Hill Road where the driver realized that he had been cornered by police.
The driver in an attempt to evade arrest accelerated his vehicle and attempted to roll over the officers, when he was fatally shot.
The driver, 19 year old male of Pinewood Gardens was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The female received a gunshot injury to the arm and was taken to hospital where she was treated and discharged. The female is assisting police with their investigations. Active police investigations continue.
