POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT
Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred at Woodes Rodgers Wharf in the Straw Market. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:00 pm on Wednesday 6th July, 2011 in the area of the Casa Blanca Bar and involved two (2) men. Both men were taken to hospital via EMS personnel where they were treated and discharged but, remain in police custody.

The men who are both Bahamians, ages 32 and 27 years, are expected to be charged in connection with this incident. Persons that frequent the downtown area, you are encouraged to act in accordance with the laws of this country. Failing to do so, will result in the police taking immediate and decisive action. Police would like to advise members of the public that we will continue with our efforts in making this Bahamas a safer place for all.

SEVEN (7) MEN ARRESTED IN SOUTHWESTERN OPERATION
In an effort to curtail the armed robberies within the Southwestern Division, officers took to the streets within their divisional boundary on Wednesday 6th July, 2011, seeking wanted suspects and executing search warrants. At the end of the operation, officers arrested eight males, seven adult and one juvenile from the Carmichael Road area.
The men along with the juvenile were arrested for Vagrancy, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Unlawful Possession, Stealing and Outstanding Warrant of Arrest. Officers of the Southwestern Division wish to advise persons residing within their divisional boundary to partner with them and report suspicious people and activities. We can create a safer Bahamas if we work together.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the person/s responsible for a shooting at Key West Street. The incident reportedly occurred sometime around 11:30 pm on Wednesday 6th July, 2011. According to police reports the victim, a 15 year old female was visiting a friend�s home at Key West Street, when she was shot to the leg by the occupant of silver Honda Civic. The female was taken to hospital where she is detained in stable condition. Police are following significant leads into the matter. Police investigations continue.

POLICE REQUEST PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING ROBBERS
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating three (3) males responsible for two (2) separate armed robberies yesterday. The first incident occurred shortly after 5:00 pm on Wednesday 6th July, 2011 at Sun Tee Bahamas Sportswear, Shirley Street. Preliminary police reports indicate that a male entered the establishment allegedly armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The culprit robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in a Nissan Bluebird. Police are questioning a 30 year old man of Fox Hill in connection with this incident. Active police investigations continue.

The second armed robbery reportedly occurred around 5:18 pm on Wednesday 6th July, 2011, at Milo Butler Wholesale Peach Street and Montrose Avenue. According to police reports two (2) men, one of whom was allegedly armed with a handgun entered the establishment and demanded cash. The culprits robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.   1. These uncivilized people need to stay their azzes of Bay Street, especially places they know where tourist is be, but unfortunately they are the ones who enjoys being in the midst of everything.
