Cassius Stuart tell leaders to do more to combat vexing crime crisis under the FNM.

Man is murder victim number 313 since 2009

Only one week has rolled over since the New Year was ushered in with prayers and fireworks and already the Bahamas is witnessing a gully wash of blood on the streets of the capital. Crime is problem number one facing Bahamians as a dead body is discovered in bushes just off Marshall Road and already two young men have been murdered.

Bahamas Press has learnt that a relative of current FNM candidate for Bamboo Town, Cassius Stuart, is the country’s second murder victim.

BP can confirm the 32-year-old Balls Alley resident, Mario Stuart, is the country’s 313th murder victim since 2009.

Reports are Mario was in his own yard when gunmen opened fire on him. He died in hospital after being rushed to PMH in a private vehicle.

Residents tell us a gunman pulled through Balls Alley just off Shirley Street and fired a gang of bullets in the direction of the victim. He was the only child of his mother.

Relative of the deceased, Cassius Stuart, told the media the country is losing too many of its sons to crime and violence. He called on leaders to do more in the crime fight to protect the society from the scourge that is wreaking havoc on communities.

Members of the opposition Progressive Liberal Party, who have since unveiled a combative plan to fight crime in communities if elected by the people, have levied the same sentiments against the FNM government.

One thing is certain if you ask Bahamas Press, “The Bahamas is headed in the wrong direction!”
