More road closures ahead, New Providence still dig up

Roadworks in the Robinson Road section of New Providence have been shut down once again and is being dug up after being paved for a third time. Someone is bleeding the treasury on this POORLY MANAGED ROAD PROGRAMME!

Nassau, The Bahamas – The Ministry of Public Works and Transport wishes to advise motorists of the following traffic diversions and road closures:

Due to inclement weather, closure of the northbound lane on Baillou Hill Road South between Family Guardian and Ameryllius Avenue will now take place today February 2nd between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should follow the posted diversion signs.

The full closure on Market Street from Brougham (Broom) Street to Duke Street to facilitate laying of water mains and drainage pipes will now take place on Monday, February 6, 2012. Motorists should use Baillou Hill Road or East Street as an alternative.

East Street between Independence Roundabout and Soldier Road will be closed for two days only on February 3rd and 4th to facilitate laying of the final layer of asphalt. Motorists should use Chenile Avenue as an alternative.

Marathon Road between Wulff Road and Ferguson Way South will be closed for two days only on February 4th and 5th to facilitate laying of the final layer of asphalt. Motorists should use Claridge Road or Soldier Road as alternatives.

As usual, local access to businesses and residents will be granted in all areas of work.

Motorists are asked to adhere to the posted traffic signs in construction areas.
