Six Thousand Haitians gather in national Rally

Nassaum Bahamas – Thank you for this most important share. Truly, a picture paints a thousand words!
Clearly, the Bahamian people should now be fully aware of the danger of electing leaders who are not fully committed to the preservation of The Bahamas for BAHAMIANS! And by BAHAMIAN, I do not mean the new crew of “False-documented” impostors whose sole objective was to acquire documents and rights to which they have NO Constitutional entitlement.
NB. Haitian President Martelly came to speak to HIS people! However, I and many other sane Bahamians will be most pleased on the day when he returns to take HIS people HOME!
Additionally, they will be required to leave ALL BAHAMIAN documents at the airport! Thankfully, Martelly gave the whole game away when it was reported on the news that he now wants Haitian children born here in The Bahamas to be given BAHAMIAN Passports immediately at their birth, instead of the existing Constitutional provision for them to apply at age 18 yrs (which implies our right to deny the request since they are indeed HAITIAN CITIZENS!).
Well, since we know that the devil is indeed a Liar, we say to Mr. Martelly: “Hencefort, your Ambassador must provide HAITIAN Passports immediately for ALL of YOUR citizens accidentally or intentionally born on our soil and at your earliest convenience, please come to collect YOUR PEOPLE!!!!”

I read most of the comments some have vital points others are rhetoric but we all have our crosses to bear. I find myself to be unique in my educational circumstance in that international exposure has forced me to see that Bahamians aren’t ungrateful just a bit too laid back in comparison to other black countries and other Caribbean countries. As for prejudice, Bahamians biggest prejudice is classism not racism or whatever else. Both my parents are middle class Bahamians. I state this to draw a point that ‘I give Jack his jacket’ in that there are many foreign countries that have made viable contributions to the Bahamas and not just the Haitians. Bahamians in general especially the middle class ones, the ones that pay taxes and it comes out of minimum wages salaries that aren’t sufficient to keep up with the high cost of living due to gross high import of products. The middle class Bahamian are the ones paying taxes for hospitals, prison, schools etc.and actually feel it and they are the ones that have to follow the law most foreigners disregard so villi nilli.

I find it amazing that Bahamas and their government or people can be so hateful. Regardless of the nationality, people are people. It doesn’t matter where they came from, they deserve to be shown respect because I bet if the tables were turned and the Bahamians were in Haiti, we would treat them with curiosity and respect. At the end of the day, guess what, we call came from one land AFRICA. God didn’t give anyone the rights to keep others from his land. Just because you are born in Bahamas doesn’t mean the land belongs to you. Share the land it’s not ours to own.

I HATE NO MAN OR WOMAN!!! {I DO HATE THE TREATMENT OF THIS GOVERNMENT, however]! But from a child I have learned to LOVE PEOPLE! ALL people!
I have friends of all ideological persuasions, ethnicity, creed, faiths and gender. I don’t territoriality design the world to hate them for where they find themselves in life. I didn’t create any nation of the world to become jealous or envious of its powers.
If you study true HISTORY, you would find the WEST INDIES was all one community managed by the “Motherland”. And while we all got instruction from the old world, Haiti was a “Free Nation”; ruling its own destiny.
HOW WE FORGET! We forget that as a Caribbean people we all sailed to these islands some way or the other. Whether as slaves in some GREAT SHIP, or as Adventurers seeking the freedom to worship.
A group of people decided in 1973 that the course of England had ended in the Bahamas, and they too wanted to decide their own destiny, just like the people of Haiti did years before. And they have changed that forever. When I read the history of the Bahamas, read into a chapter where roots of deep deep deep Caribbean Heritage participated in that great day of CHANGE in the Bahamas [INDEPENDENCE]! Whites, Blacks, RICH AND POOR all stood to hear its new anthem!
Caribbean people of Trinidad, Jamaica, Haiti, Guyana and others all participated and shared in building this new nation. I say again Sassil, why we hate? Why can’t we LOVE? I HATE NO MAN! For in the eyes of GOD we all are made perfect! I say it once again I say, HATE is NOT OF GOD!

It is so amazing this country that we live in…Haitian people are a proud people and they fly their flags high here in The Bahamas and they have their Haitian license plates on the vehicles. Through the streets they are blasting their music… IF YOU SO FRIGGIN PROUD CARRY YOUR HAITIAN BEHIND HOME and build up your OWN COUNTRY…instead of trying to claim and get citizenship in other people land, trying to say you Bahamian. Also if they want to be Bahamian…NO WE DO NOT NEED TO LEARN YOUR LANGUAGE. YOU NEED TO LEARN ENGLISH. If you want to be one of us… live like us and learn our ways…DON’T FORCE YOUR culture and ways on us. If you want a place with your culture and ways..CARRY YOUR HAITIAN BEHIND BACK TO HAITI.
Now that I have had a chance to skim through all the evil and prejudice comments from one human to another; I did not realize there was still soooo much hate after all that black ppl have had to endure! TRUST GOD TO MAKE THE CHANGE, WE CAN’T DO HIS JOB!!! Everybody would like to have a good life, but not at the expense of violating other peoples’ constitutional rights……. I see Haiti becoming the gem of the Caribbean in a very short time….. Many, many investors will be building Haiti and placing investments there and Haiti will be asking other nations to come and take jobs….. Keep your eyes on Haiti, it will not always be down-trodden with corrpution, it will again raise its head, and lead the caribbean in prosperity….remember, the stone that the builders rejected becomes the head corner stone….. Haitians will return home and Bahaitians will go looking for jobs there and Bahamians, Chinese, Americans, Scottish, Irish, English, Panaminians, Dominicians, Barbadians, Jamaicans, Cubans, should I go on???? will all go to Haiti looking for a better life, now how’s that??? for prejudice? Nobody like to have their homes or private lives violated by illegal entry and then bigitory behavior…… Let’s be one under ONE JEHOVAH GOD, who made you??? PEACE, LOVE AND HAPPINESS! The earthquake that devistated Haiti will be the cause for its comeback!!!
Personally i dont have nothing aganist any nationality ONLY if they can help build that country they resides in. Now in the case of the bahamas having a hatian problem (im calling it a hatian problem because thats what it is). Hatians is our number 1 immigration problem and thats fact,then philippines, do the hatian population over crowd the schools and the hospital (yes), are they committing crimes (yes), are they coming here illegally (the majority, yes), are they building up this country our tearing it down?
The Hatian country is a strain on the bahamian people, and they need to go.
I personally feel this is and was a slap in the bahamians people face, 6 thousand reported at a rally, and what is so scary this just Nassau!!!!!

A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y … HOW is it that our Prime Minister (papa) knowing allows a “Haitian Rally” with only Haitian flags flying? You are WRONG papa! These Haitians are a PROBLEM!
Furthermore … this Haitian problem CAN be rectified starting tomorrow … everyone knows where they live, work, play, attend school … it’s not rocket science! HUMANITY? Why is papa more concerned about being humane than ensuring the sustainability of his own Bahamian people? … The kids don’t know anything else? Too bad, they shouldn’t be here in the first place because their parents shouldn’t be here!
Get with it fellow Bahamians! These Haitians are a PROBLEM and so long as “Papa and co.” (our Prime Minister and fellow politicians) have anything to do with it, this country will become Haitian because they condone it all !!!

Relly Beverly Some Bahamians are predjudice, however some Haitians do forget that they are here because our country has offered them a way out of repression. you must respect the people whose land you now share and call your own my friends. I can only speak for myself. i have no problem with Haitians because most of the persons that I know who are of Haitian decent have contributed renarkably to this country in ways many would never know. we have many doctors who are haitians, some wont reveal themselves ,but there are a large group. some being the brightest in their class. Many lawyers, nurses, financial advisors, and I know a large number of accountants. What upsets me is that some wont try to help those haitians who have less than they do. If the Haitians who are influential and financially set would help those down trodden, they would help a large number of their country men on this island. As for my Bahamian friends who are predjudice against Haitians, remember to look closely at that friend you sit in nubo restuarant with or the colleugue you share lunch at Grey cliff or bleu restuarant with : you may be with the one person you detest so greatly. food for thought!
