Nassau, Bahamas — Breaking news coming into Bahamas Press early this evening confirms the death toll of murder victims has just climbed to a new high following a shooting in the Bains and Grants Town area.

Gunned down like an animal in the street just over an hour ago is 24-year-old Noel Roker AKA Dogman of Rupert Dean Lane.

The victim, we are being told, was shot some six times to the head with a high-powered weapon on Dorsette Street. His attackers fled the crime scene.

This latest incident represents the country’s four hundred and sixth murder since 2007. There are far too many murders occurring in this small town with less than 300,000 people.

The slaughter just does not seem to end. It was early this morning when there was yet another murder on St. Alban’s Drive where another young man was shot multiple times about the body.

War has erupted on the streets of the capital where hundreds of young men and women have lost their lives to another rising the endless tide of blood on our streets.

POLICE MAKE FIREARM ARRESTS

In two (2) separate incidents police have removed two (2) handguns and a quantity of ammunition from the streets of New Providence. According to police reports around 3:00 am on Sunday 01st April, 2012 officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Madeira Street when they observed a yellow Ford van occupied by four (4) males acting suspiciously. Officers conducted a search of the van and discovered a handgun along with ammunition. The men, two age 40 years, a 36 year old and 22 year old were taken into custody.

In the second incident officers of the Southwestern Division (Carmichael Road Police Station) arrested a 27 year old male of Martin Close off Cowpen Road after he was found in possession of a handgun and ammunition. The male was arrested around 11:45 pm on Sunday 01st April, 2012 at his residence. Active police investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY

Police are investigating a traffic accident that has left a 19 year old man dead. The incident reportedly occurred around 11:00 pm on Sunday 01st April, 2012. Initial police reports indicate that the deceased was driving a white Honda Accord, accompanied by three (3) others, east along Cable Beach( in the area of Goodman’s Bay Beach), when he lost control and collided into a tree in the centre of the median. The vehicle was extensively damage and resulted in the driver being extricated from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers, two (2) males and a female were taken to hospital where at present one of the males is listed in critical condition and the other male along with the female in stable condition. Active police investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATES RECENT MURDER

Police are requesting the publics assistance in locating the person(s) responsible for a shooting incident that has left a 32 year old man dead. The incident reportedly occurred around 12:10 am on Monday 2nd April, 2012. Preliminary police reports indicate that the victim was at his apartment at St. Albans Drive when he was approached and subsequently shot multiple times to the body.
