DEU OFFICERS MAKE LARGE DRUG SEIZURE, 2 HAITIAN NATIONALS IN CUSTODY
Nassau, Bahamas — A 60 – year-old Haitian man and a 53 – year-old Haitian woman are in custody following a large drug seizure that occurred on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, shortly before 2:00pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home located at Balls Alley off Shirley Street, where they uncovered 37 1⁄2 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of 37,000.00 and a half (1⁄2) pound of cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,000.00.
The two suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.
