POLICE SEEKING PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING THREE SHOOTING INCIDENTS

Nassau, Bahamas – POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving three separate shooting incidents that has left five men detained in hospital.

In the first incident, police are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that occurred at Potters Cay Dock, shortly after 8:00pm on Friday 8th August 2014, which has left three men detained in hospital in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly before 10:00pm on Friday 8th August 2014, a man was sitting down in front of his home located at West Dennis Court, Yellow Elder Gardens, when the occupants of a green Honda vehicle pulled up and shot him to the leg before speeding off. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition.

In the third incident, shortly after 4:00am on Saturday 9th August 2014, a man was at a club located at 3rdStreet, Coconut Grove, when he was approached by two men and shot in the shoulder. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing in all of these incidents.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the following arrests overnight:

Five (5) arrests for Outstanding Criminal Warrants

Three (3) arrests for Firearms

One (1) arrest for Possession of Dangerous Drugs
