Nassau, Bahamas – In the first incident, shortly after 1:00pm on Tuesday 23rd September 2014, two men armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment located on East Street South of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
In the second incident, shortly after 2:00pm on Tuesday 23rd September 2014, a man armed with a handgun, robbed a convenience store located at Yamacraw Hill Road of a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
TWO MEN IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING A SHOOTING INCIDENT
A 24 – year old man of Cowpen Road and a 23 –year old man of Nassau Village are in custody following a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Tuesday 23rd September 2014.
According to reports, shortly after 11:30pm, a man was sitting in his vehicle outside of a club in Palmdale, when a man armed with a handgun shot him to the shoulder and fled on foot.The victim was transported to hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.
A short while later police arrested the two suspects in connection with this incident.
In a separate incident, shortly after 9:10pm last night, a man was walking on Andros Avenue, when he was shot to the leg. The victim was taken to hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE SEIZE SHOTGUN
According to reports, around 11:00pm on Tuesday 23rd September 2014, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence went to Palm Breeze Drive off Carmichael Road, where they uncovered a shotgun in a garbage container. No one was arrested for this seizure.
12 ARRESTED OVERNIGHT BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of twelve (12) persons overnight for various minor and major offences.
