The Spirit of Marriage is back in the air for the country’s former Speaker of the Parliament!

Sir Arlignton Butler is getting a new bride.

Nassau, Bahamas – The former Speaker of the House and longstanding President of the Bahamas Olympic Association Sir Arlington Butler is set to tie the knot on May 6th, 2015.

BP has learned Sir Arlington who is also known as the Earl of Winton in his community will take the hand in marriage to a Bahamian woman who presently resides in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is 71-year-old, Ms Hazel Scott.

The nuptial is set to take place at the St. Georges Anglican Church in the Valley and the Celebrant will be Diocesan Assistant Bishop Gilbert Thompson, who is also a cousin of the groom. Best Man will be another cousin, Amos Butler. BP will serve around the altar preparing the holy place for the event!

Bahamas Press learned of the love affair and the pending wedding as we sat with the Lunch Bunch where the grand announcement was made. A breakfast will be hosted at St. Georges following the ceremony and an afternoon lunch will be prepared for a special crew at the Cricket Club on West Bay Street.

Sir Arlington’s first wife of many years, the late Lady Shelia Butler, lost her battle two years ago following a long illness. She, we have been advised, gave her blessings to Sir Arlington to remarry before she died as the couple was a close friend of the bride.
