Officer got caught in the middle of gunfire as she was leaving work!
Nassau, Bahamas — A female police officer could go to church this morning and thank the ALMIGHTY knowing that she is still alive after she encountered a near death experience early this morning.
The officer, who is assigned to the Tourism Unit, was moonlighting at the End Zone Bar on Tonique Darling Highway. Around 3:30 am, she was exiting the establishment when someone having too much to drink came outside shooting rounds at a man who fled the area.
The off-duty officer was about to enter her vehicle when the gunman, shooting at his target, fired shots in her direction when the man fleeing on foot crossed paths with the off-duty officer. As a result, the officer was hit in the arm and her vehicle sprayed with bullets. She was fortunate!
We at BP still have no details on the shooter, but CCTV in the area and at the bar should assist the investigators.
All we say is this: What yinner think some people are smoking to be out on the streets of New Providence around 3:30am!
