Fatality victims are officer 3657 Gaitor of the RBPF and driver Travis Sweeting
Nassau, Bahamas — Police this morning had to close off the roadway onto East Street and Malcolm Road after they reported a double fatality in the area.
This incident unfolded early this morning around 4am in the morning. It was reported that three occupants of a 2010 white Chevy Malibu were trapped inside. With assistance of the Jaws of Life the occupants were cut free.
One of the victims we have identified is 23-year-old officer 3657 Wesley Nicolas Gaitor. He was a young officer on the Royal Bahamas Police Force. The driver was 22-year-old Travis Sweeting. He also died on impact. The only surviving victim was a female. She was transported to hospital and is listed in critical condition. The front of his white vehicle was completely disassembled with debris scattered all across the roadway.
The second victim is still not identified up to the time of this report.
