Two homicides in less than 24-hours
Victim in Cable Beach is Yellow Elder resident 28-year-old, Kenron Dean
Nassau, Bahamas — Police are right now at the scene of homicide #14 this time in the Shirley Street area.
BP has learnt detectives have been called into the Shirley Park Lane community just off Shirley Street near the Sacred Heart Church just after 6pm where they discovered a male dead with apparent injuries to the body.
This latest homicide comes following a homicide on Cable Beach near the Land Shark Motel last evening.
In that incident just before midnight, two men were having an altercation in the median on the Cable Beach strip. Both men were spotted by an off-duty officer just a minute after one shot the other and fled into a vehicle with eight others.
The victim died at the scene while the suspect attempted to flee. The off-duty officer gave chase calling police control to intercept the vehicle. When the car was stopped at Saunders Beach, police detained nine persons who were inside. A pistil – believed to be the murder weapon – was recovered.
Bahamas Press has identified the victim as 28-year-old, Kenron Dean, of Yellow Elder. Dean was another man on bail for firearm possession and was fitted with an ankle bracelete. Someday we will learn why persons on bail are being gunned down on the streets of the capital. Someday!
