The morning didn’t start right for this taxi driver!
Nassau, Bahamas — A taxi driver didn’t have a good morning on Thursday after his vehicle caught fire and burst into a raging inferno.
The scene brought frightening memories of the straw market fire that occurred in 2001.
The vehicle pulled near a store on Bay and Frederick Streets before the morning rush hour and began bursting into billowing flames quickly.
When it was over, the store was scorched black and the shell of the vehicle was left. No one was hurt during the incident and fire services quickly extinguished the blaze.
As one observer told BP, “Could this be the sign of things to come?” Fifteen years after the Straw Market and Pompey Museum went up in flames in 2001. Following both fires government changed!
