A Rolle is dead following an accident in Exuma

Exuma, Bahamas — Bahamas Press is reporting a deadly crash on the island of Exuma.

Bahamas Press is reporting and can now confirm the victim in that fatality on the island of Exuma yesterday is 59-year-old Hubert Rolle.

We can tell you that sometime around  8:00 pm on Thursday night, police in Exuma received information of an accident on Queens Highway, Rokers’ Point, involving a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara Jeep L/P 1977 and a1996 Nissan Station Wagon L/P 1359.

It was further reported that the driver of the Grand Vitara was traveling west on Queens Highway and the driver of the Nissan Station Wagon east when the both vehicles collided.

The driver of the Nissan Station received injuries and succumbed on the scene. The deceased is believed to be a resident of Mt. Thompson, Exuma.

MORE BREAKING NEWS <<<SHOOTING IN SUNLIGHT COTTAGE

Sometime around 6:36 am on Thursday 3rd February, 2011 police received information of a shooting at Sunlight Cottage.  Information received that a 25 year old male was walking on Sunlight Cottage in the area of the basketball court when he heard gunshots and realized that he was shot to the thigh. The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is detained in stable condition.

STABBING IN BACARDI ROAD AREA

Sometime around 3:50 pm on Thursday 3rd February, 2011 police received information of a stabbing at Bacardi Road.  Police responded and information received that two males were fighting at Bacardi Road when a third 24 year old male attempted to intervene and was subsequently stabbed to the abdomen and buttocks. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in stable condition.

FIREARM RECOVERED ON 5th STREET COCONUT GROVE

Sometime around 6:00 pm on Thursday 3rd February, 2011 officers of the Southern Division acting on information proceeded to a property on 5th Street Coconut Grove where they recovered a shotgun.  No one was taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY IN PINEWOOD

Sometime around 6:40 pm on Thursday 3rd February, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at Jumbey Street, Pinewood Gardens.  Police responded and information received that a female on arrival to her residence was approached by two (2) dark males, one of whom was allegedly armed with a knife and the other a handgun.  It is reported that the culprits robbed the female of her handbag containing an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot in a westerly direction.  Police are investigating.
