Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. – As part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s One Million Backpacks initiative, which has the goal of donating and distributing one million backpacks and related school supplies globally over a four-year period, the members of the Eta Psi Omega Chapter accepted the charge to serve. Donations, which will promote the learning process by providing substantial support to students, included more than sixty backpacks filled with school supplies that will be dispersed among various students ranging from Primary to Secondary school age in Nassau, Bahamas.

A partnership between the organization and the School Welfare Division of the Department Social Services was forged. On numerous occasions the Chapter has donated to various Divisions within the Department of Social Services and for this venture the School Welfare Division was instrumental in identifying students with specific school supply needs.

On September 14, 2015, the members of Eta Psi Omega Chapter paid a visit to the Division’s Office on Robinson Road and presented Mrs. Lillian Quant-Forbes, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services, with the backpacks and school supplies.
