More drugs taken off the streets!
Nassau, Bahamas – Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, an operation conducted by officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), seized a large quantity of marijuana on Thursday 17th March 2016.
Reports are that DEU Officers acting on intelligence intercepted a Ford Taurus car, occupied by two men, on Joe Farrington Road around 10:30pm. The vehicle was searched and approximately 521 pounds of marijuana was seized.
The two men were taken into custody in relation to the incident. Their identities will be revealed during their court appearance.
FIREARM SEIZED BY POLICE
Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, Mobile Division Officers seized a handgun on Marathon Road, on Thursday 17th March 2016.
Reports are that shortly before 7:00 pm, Mobile Division officers were on patrol in the Marathon Road area when a premises was searched. During the searched a .22 pistol along with four live rounds was found.
No arrests have been made.
