    Letter to the Editor.

    Another One Bites the Dust:

When we open the Thursday morning dailies and see the number of deaths in the Bahamas, maybe the songwriters John Deacon, and vocalist Freddie Mercury of the English rock ban Queen, were Minor Prophets, speaking with inspired telepathic instincts and clairvoyance, predicting twenty-seven years ahead of their time about a young Bahamian society, that is now seeing the true manifestation of the lyrics, we so ignorantly sang out loud in the early 1980’s.

“Another One Bites the Dust” is a 1980 funk-rock song from the English rock Rock and roll band Queen , written by bassist John Deacon and was a worldwide crossover hit (hitting number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, hitting #2 on the R&B charts, and the Disco Top 100). In the band’s native UK, the song peaked at #7. The song is Queen’s best selling single and their biggest hit to date, with sales of over 7 million copies.

The saying, …You shall have what you say, truly reveals that life and death is in the power of the tongue. One political party through-out their election campaign declared…”I ain’t Looking fa’ much. So they “ain’t get much” (Votes), and is still trying to figure out what happened. The saying goes, You shall have what you say. So next time be careful what you say.

However, I write this letter not because of the “MILD” lyrics of the English rock band Queen, but because of the disturbing satanic lyrics I heard playing in a car a few weeks back. The key lines of the song where (…SHOOT HIM UP… JOOK HIM UP… KILL’EM, KILL’EM…” I do not know if the young man recorded the song in his private studio, or was it an international artist, but the disturbing fact was a woman and a little girl about the age of six was in the car with the music blasting. These types of songs are becoming commonly accepted by our society, and are being played all over our country today. There should be a penalty for irresponsible adults allowing children to embody such fitly songs.

I have concluded we have become a “SONG & DANCE” society. Take a few minutes and flip through most of the Radio stations in out country, to be honest, after the 12:00 noon talk show is ended, there is almost nothing of value left to listen to. It is all music and commercials, at least 95% of airtime. I cannot speak for you, but am tired of hearing the same songs playing over and over again, and that includes those who TALK their songs.

    PLEASE think on these things.

    A Concerned Citizen
