The Bahamas Humane Society held its Annual Thanksgiving Ball on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the British Colonial Hilton hotel. The Ball Committee reported a sell out evening with 256 guests in attendance and a very successful in-house raffle and silent auction. The Grand Prize was won by Mrs. and Mrs. Colin Callendar. Nassau Bahamas – The annual Bahamas Humane Society Thanksgiving Ball, which raises funds for necessary and compassionate work undertaken by The Bahamas Humane Society in Nassau and the Family Islands, will take place on Saturday, November 10h at The British Colonial Hilton Hotel, under the Patronage of his Excellency, Arthur D. Hanna, Governor General.
The Ball will feature a five-course gourmet meal accompanied by the music of the Lou Adams Orchestra and Modern Vintage. Graham Beck wines and Fiji water donated by Bristol Cellars will accompany the meal. An exciting in-house raffle features a Grand Prize of 2 First Class Tickets to Paris donated by American Eagle/American Airlines, together with a 5-night hotel stay at the Paris, France, Hilton Hotel donated by the British Colonial Hilton. Additional trips to be won include accommodations at the Four Seasons Hotel in Exuma, a 5-night stay at Breezes, Jamaica, The Rock House, Harbour Island, and 3-night stay at The Cove, Atlantis.
Corporate Sponsors of the gala fundraiser include Bank of The Bahamas, Ansbacher Bank, S. G. Hambros Bank and Royal Bank of Canada. Beautiful raffle prizes include donations by Bacardi, Bahama Hand Prints, Bahamas Fast Ferries, Bamboo Bamboo, Caribbean Landscape, Coach, Coles of Nassau, Graycliff, Indigo Restaurant, Gucci, John Bull, Kellys, Lucianos Restaurant, Maison Décor, Morley for Men, The Gardens, The Perfume Shop, Stuart Coves, The Sports Centre, The Plait Lady, Powerboat Adventures, Versace, Villagio, the Wasps Nest, Windermere Spa and numerous other prize donors.
The evening will also include a silent auction featuring tickets to Wimbledon for 2008, designer jewelry from John Bull, and a day of golf at the Ocean Club.
