Nassau, Bahamas – From 4am this morning the crowd thickens outside the BTC Southwest Plaza shopping centre as the Black Friday event of the country’s oldest and most experienced mobile provider open their doors.
It wasn’t easy. The crowd was thick. They want a new BTC Phone and nothing else. They wanted packages. They wanted plans. They wanted BTC!
The hundreds outside learned quickly that NewCo Aliv phone don’t work and the few customers who attempted to use the network are having serious issues. They discovered that the Aliv has no real network or infrastructure outside the capital. Bahamians are not switching!
One mother screamed in the crowd this morning, “Dis is BTC Country and we are da BTC citizens!” Boy, we laughed as the NewCo Aliv store next door were all lights out like a funeral home….dead!
