Bahamas Press has grown weary of Hubert Ingraham, Zhivargo Laing and Carl Bethel (who is fighting everyone else’s battles to keep his job, instead of the statutory rape battle concerning his son at Queen’s College), playing with words to try and sanitize the defrauding of Customs concerning the tariff on Mona Vie.
So now Bahamas Press will bring the issue into focus as to where it stands today. Bahamas Press has heard the back and forth concerning Hubert Ingraham’s statement that if MP Frank Smith can show him where Mona Vie is tariffed at 10%, someone would go home from Finance as a result. But Bahamas Press will not be confused by the twisting of words. So Bahamas Press now asks THE $64,000.00 QUESTION:
If MONA VIE WAS ORIGINALLY TARIFFED AT 45% AND HUBERT INGRAHAM, AS HE SAID, GAVE ZHIVARGO LAING THE AUTHORITY TO BRING IT DOWN TO 10% IN DECEMBER OF 2007, WHY DID HUBERT INGRAHAM THEN TURN AROUND AND PUT IT BACK TO 45% IN THE RECENT FISCAL BUDGET PASSED ON JULY 1, 2008?
That is indeed the $64,000.00 question because if Zhivargo was correct in changing it to 10% from 45%, when did he become wrong for it to go back to 45% in the recent Budget? Could Hubert Ingraham have thought that Zhivargo was right in December of 2007, but wrong in June of 2008? The $64,000.00 question also brings some other questions:
Was this tariff reduced at the time because two containers of Mona Vie were brought in two weeks before the reduction? Was it then okay to put it back to its original tariff, once the culprits had gotten their mega shipment through? If so, who really stood to benefit from the lowering of the tariff? And why is Hubert Ingraham hell bent on his unholy alliance of deciding that he will go down with Zhivargo, by saying that Zhivargo was right to lower the tariff to 10%, but proving himself and Zhivargo wrong by putting it back to 45% in the recent Budget?
Bahamas Press has gathered enough evidence so far to believe that the unholy alliance of Hubert and Zhivargo stems from the time when Zhivargo was a consultant for ColinaImperial and what Colina did for The FNM, Hubert Ingraham and Zhivargo Laing! The Alexiou-Ingraham-Laing Connection must be revealed!

What happen to the so call trust agenda that brought the FNM to power. Who can we trust.
The small man is being castrated left, right and centre in this country. We could never get away with paying 10% duty on an item that should be 45% so why is Laing and his family member allowed to do so.
Shame on you PM and Laing.

At one point, I had reservations about this site’s motives. Now, it seems to me that it is really doing things that the mainstream press are afraid to do. Continue to protect democracy.
