The cartoon, which refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn. on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner, drew criticism Wednesday on media Web sites and from civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton.

  1. I am quite certain the cartoonist who drew this and the editor who ran this were NOT referring to Travis the Chimp. From time memorial racists and white supremists have referred to black people as monkeys.

This is directed at the Negro President of the United States – Barack Obama. This was in poor, poor taste and not only should this paper be boycotted by blacks, but the editor should be questioned by the FBI.
