East End, Grand Bahama — A Bahamian from Freetown East End Grand Bahama is dead this morning following a horrific car crash headed home this morning.
Dead is Ramon Laing, an employee of a US based company called Hydropure, which is working with Statoil. He was in his mid-20s and was just engaged to be married. What a tragedy.
The crash was such with such intensity that Laing was trapped in his vehicle, which burnt at the scene and five others were hospitalized.
The accident occurred shortly after 1am this morning on the Queens Highway in the vicinity of the old Freetown Farm.
We can tell you it involved two vehicles; a Chevy Cavalier that was travelling west along Grand Bahama Highway with four males and one female occupants and a white Chevy Cobalt which was travelling in an easterly direction with Laing inside.
Upon impact the Chevy cobalt became fully engulf in flames. Police, Officers of the Fire Branch and EMS Personnel were called to the scene. Human remains were discovered inside the cobalt after the fire was extinguished. Both vehicles received extensive damages. All five of the passengers in the Chevy Cavalier were taken to the Rand Memorial
Hospital via E.M.S personnel and their conditions are listed as stable.
We pray for the family of Laing who is mourning his lost.
Rest Eternal Grant Unto Him O Lord! Amen….
