Our agents tell us that the victim is a male, Bobby Thompson, of Palmetto Point, believed to be about 35-years-old. Thompson is said to have been walking near the dump between Palmetto Point and Savannah Sound when he was hit by a car.
The area has absolutely no lights and the drivers are believed to be guests to the island.
Our agent on the island has spoken to someone who knew the victim. He is said to have been a very quiet man, the oldest of four, who kept to himself.
