Incident records the victim as BERNARD PIERRE – Speed was a factor

Accident scene in Abaco this morining.

On Sunday 10th February 2013, around 3:20am, police received information of a traffic fatality on Forest Drive, Southside Road, Murphy Town, Abaco.

Reports are that upon arrival to the scene, police discovered a gray 1990 Ford Mustang that had collided into a Bahamas Electricity Corporation light pole with a male driver still inside the vehicle who was unresponsive.

EMS and the local doctor were called to the scene where the driver was pronounced dead.

This is Abaco second traffic fatality for the year 2013.

Police are actively investigating this matter.

The incident the second fatality in 24 hours. Late last night Rock Sound Eleuthera resident 30-year-old Garfield Sands lost his when his vehicle collided with a dumpster in the Hatchet Bay Community around 5:30 pm. He died instantly.

Residents must drive slow. Drive within the speed limit. Drive to arrive alive.
