Nassau, Bahamas — Breaking news coming into Bahamas Press confirms the town is fast going red.

We can report a fifth murder in the country in 8 days, this time in the Grand Bahama area.

A double shooting in the Lucaya area of Grand Bahama has left one man dead and another nursing serious gunshot wounds following the incident.

This breaking news comes on the heels of the shooting of a police officer over the weekend. He was shot outside a residence on Woods Alley just off Wulff Road on Saturday.

The gunman in that incident shot up the off duty officer, hitting him six times about the body with a high-powered war type weapon. The motive is unknown.

Detectives tell us the officer was about to pay visit to a “female friend” when the shooting happened. Some believe the incident was a result of a love triangle.
