Anita Bernard, Secretary to the Cabinet

Nassau, Bahamas — Cabinet Secretary, Anita Bernard, is set to retire for a second time from the public service reliable sources in the OPM have confirmed to BP.

The former Permanent Secretary of Works was brought out of retirement by the Ingraham Administration to fill the Cabinet Secretary position following the retirement of former Secretary Wendall Major.

BP can confirm two senior officials are being sought to replace Bernard.

Current PS for the Prime Minister Office, David Davis, is set to be Ingraham’s pick for the top post following Bernard’s departure, reliable sources suggest. We are told Davis is Ingraham’s “BLUE EYE BOY,” who though is not the best choice is the likely choice for the job.

OPM sources also tell us another possible candidate for the Cabinet position is current Director of Immigration, Jack Thompson. Meanwhile BP has learnt, a second shuffle of Permanent Secretaries within the Public Service is set to begin.

Bernard in 2009 received the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George Companion (CMG) for her contributions of service in the government. She was the second woman to hold current position in the service.

  1. Don’t know Davis….but know of Thompson, it would be great to get him out of Immigration, he is not effective and too much of a “softie” in every sense of the word. If he works directly with Ingraham maybe he will toughen up plus there won’t be any new venerable young officers!
