Junkanoo Organiser for ‘Just Rush’ parade Peter Adderley.
Nassau, Bahamas – News sources have now confirmed that Peter Adderley organizer of the ‘Just Rush’ junkanoo parade on Grand Bahama has left the country and has been spotted in Turks and Caicos. Adderley is wanted for questioning by police in connection with the two bounced cheques written to Western Air in the amounts of $100,000 and 39,000 respectively.
Western Air served as the official airline for the July 12th junkanoo parade event. Members of the Junkanoo community in Grand Bahama are today also leading their voice to the disappearance of Peter Adderley and are concern as to what has happened to their funds. One junkanooer told Bahamas Press, “I ain’t ever going back to that parade in Grand Bahama, we been in GB stuck and now my instrument missing?”
Today the Nassau Guardian editorial, writer Oswald ‘why you scared a murder’ Brown has titled today’s editorial ‘An absolute disgrace’. In it he castigated the FNM government and minister for their failure to have yet paid junkanooers in Grand Bahama for their participation in the New Year’s Day Parade. But not only has the junkanooers not been paid by the government, but a private junkanooer organiser [Peter Adderley] have ran off to Turks and Caicos and have yet to deliver on the $100,000 in prize money his ‘Just Rush’ parade. The government’s money might be late, but it is sure to come. But what are junkanooers in Grand Bahama to do, now that the little money they had is all sapped by a private organizer’s event and they have not been paid for that parade?
Oswald ‘why you scared a murder’ Brown should be putting pen to paper on these types of crimes committed against Grand Bahamians and not be attacking the government nor the minister, for the money owed to junkanooers by the government will come. And Ossie if you have any more ink left in that pen write something about MURDER man.
Peter Adderley has fled to Turks and Caicos Islands, as police want him for questioning.
